Paneltec NZ CONTRACTING Paneltec cladding is bringing streamlined contemporary aesthetics and sustainable features to many high-profile commercial developments across the country, such as Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr House, Lower Hutt’s Sebel Hotel, the Quest Hotel in Hastings, and Whangarei’s new Te Iwitahi Civic Centre. Paneltec New Zealand designs, manufactures and distributes a range of quality prefinished façade solutions, including solid aluminium and custom non-combustible ALP (aluminium laminated panels), ACM (aluminium composite material), through-colour fibre cement and extruded aluminium. Other products are under development. General manager Judah Simpkin says clients are spoilt for choice with a huge range of façade styles and endless colour options adaptable to a large range of applications, supporting their vision of “making iconic buildings possible”. Founded in 2016, Paneltec has gone from strength to strength, supplying prefinished cladding systems and attachment components fully certified to meet all New Zealand building standards. Paneltec provides expert, endto-end guidance from design to installation, compliance to supply, to ensure developers, architects, builders and other key stakeholders get the outcomes they desire. “It doesn’t matter where you are in New Zealand, we have installers available,” says Judah. “We are able to deliver as many projects – of any size – as our clients need. We collaborate with architects and developers from the start to assist with designs and shop drawings. Our early engagement and end-toend support make sure that the design is both achievable and buildable. “This streamlines a lot of compliance issues. It also means that when our client goes to the builder for installation pricing, they have a highly detailed plan to work with.” Paneltec has one of the largest stocks in New Zealand, guaranteeing consistent and timely supply. Whether it’s large-scale infrastructure or low-rise residential, each project is considered unique, ensuring the best possible outcome. Judah says Induracore G2, New Zealand’s leading aluminium laminated panel, eclipses the fire performance and durability of older, unsafe cladding systems. With unlimited building- height applications, it has been extensively tested to meet all requirements of the New Zealand Building Code. “G2 is also very stable. Its three-layer construction means it doesn’t bow or wave.” Induracore G2 appears the same as Paneltec’s traditional composite aluminium panels (ACP). However, it is constructed from a completely aluminium-stamped structure, rather than combustible materials. With no composite materials present, it is ideal for the external wall cladding of commercial, industrial and high-end residential buildings, as well as internal linings. The product also offers superior seismic performance as its cassette system flexes to accommodate earthquake shear forces. Other unique claddings include Stryüm and Genesis. Stryüm, an extruded aluminium board system, was used in Perth’s celebrated 60,000-seat Optus Stadium. It is available in any Dulux or Interpol powder-coating colour, including wood grains. Genesis, a pre-finished compressed fibre cement facade rain screen system, is proving popular with architects and designers, says Judah. Available in a wide range of finishes, textures and colours, it has a 50-year-plus design life and is a versatile, low-maintenance cladding with design options to suit any project.
