Values. We stake our name on every job. Every project matters whether big or small. Every client is a priority, and every price submitted is carefully quantified to ensure nothing is missed/no mistakes are made. Premium electrical services, delivered with integrity Electrical services company Pengelly Bennett & Sons has fast gained a name for quality in the Auckland market and a reputation for delivering premium work at competitive prices, underpinned by a values-driven approach that makes every client a priority. Ben Pengelly and Scott Bennett founded their Auckland based company in 2021, combining more than 40 years’ local and international expertise between them. Both have previously run successful businesses of their own and share the same drive to excel in their respective roles today as project director and commercial director at Pengelly Bennett & Sons. “We have an onsite team of 25+ on the tools with us at the moment including half a dozen apprentices,” says Ben. “We’re a young, keen team with a lot of local knowledge. We’re flexible, we move and adapt, and we go above and beyond for our clients.” Pengelly Bennett & Sons have strong long-term relationships in the construction sector, working with other companies that prize integrity, precision and quality. One such industry relationship is with Watts & Hughes Construction. Ben’s connection with Watts & Hughes started not long after he first struck out on his own as BRP Electrical. The relationship has continued with Pengelly Bennett & Sons. His perfectionist streak is perfectly aligned with the high standard Watts & Hughes requires, for example in design and build school projects with the Ministry of Education. As a project partner, Pengelly Bennett & Sons provides a range of quality electrical services, ICT services, PA/bell services and security services. Their past school projects with Watts & Hughes include new teaching blocks – at Stonefields School, Westlake Boys School, Onehunga Primary, Drury School, Flatbush School, Riverhead School, Rutherford School and other sites – and new school design and builds, such as Mangapikopiko School, [formerly Park Estate School]. A recent project with Watts & Hughes was a new teaching block at Albany Primary School. Ben says Pengelly Bennett & Sons was involved right from tendering in developing project plans and methodology. Along with enabling works to facilitate construction, Ben and the team managed all electrical services including lighting control and heating control to provide an energy efficient temperature-controlled environment, along with ICT (structured cabling for data and fibre), security alarms, CCTV, access control, PA system, lockdown alarm and school bell. “Sometimes, as was the case here, an old block that’s being demolished to make way for a new block has the school’s main switchboard in it, so we had to relocate that too, and use generators to keep the school up and running while power was switched over.” Health and safety was a top priority at all times. Ben says all project partners – including also Jasmax (architect) and Mesh Consulting (building services) - shared that same focus, and a strong commitment to providing a positive experience and outcome for the school. Pengelly Bennett & Sons is currently working on multiple design and build projects with Watts and Hughes. “We really value our ongoing relationship with them.” E: info@pbandsons.co.nz T: 0800 873 727 www.pbandsons.co.nz/contact Need tailored electrical services to meet your needs?
