The concrete superstructure for the two buildings was constructed on-site by Kalmar Concrete, which had a dedicated team for this, aided by some key subcontractors for concrete walls, precast floor supply and the structural steel fabrication and erection. “It gives us control to do things well and be more efficient. “Every other part of the job was done by subcontractors and we managed all of them and kept things on track.” The exterior façade comprises brickwork on the lower levels with Integra lightweight concrete cladding above, and Nu-Wall vertical aluminium cladding on the top levels, while the interior of the apartments and the communal spaces is a perfect balance of warmth, ambience and functionality. “It has wide corridors, spacious bathrooms, inviting spaces for socialising, and the building has been designed to really blend in with the rest of the village, even though it’s new and modern and much taller. “They’ve done a very good job of making it blend in with the village and the surrounding neighbourhood.” Specialists in Steel stud & suspended ceilings Contact: Derek Hall 021 926 947 PipeWorks is one of the largest trenchless pipe lining and rehabilitation companies in New Zealand with the majority of our specialised CIPP lining and CCTV projects delivered in regional locations throughout the country.
