PB Kitchens has carved out a unique niche in the market by positioning itself between budget retailers and high-end joinery firms. “People either get a basic design service with set measurements that don’t always fit their space, and although the product is cheaper, it won’t last,” says company owner Jared Pemberton. “Or they go to a cabinetmaker, get professional service and a custom design, but often pay for the large overheads. There seemed to be no middle ground, which is where PB Kitchens comes in,” Jared says. PB Kitchens had its beginnings in 2013, and has focused exclusively on kitchens since 2021, offering customers custom-designed kitchens with premium service, but without the hefty price tag typically associated with bespoke joinery. The company’s approach streamlines the traditional kitchen design process by removing costly overheads while maintaining quality and customisation. Rather than having an expensive factory with plant and equipment, PB Kitchens partners with an Auckland manufacturer, meaning it can offer hundreds of unit configurations, almost any colour board, and product sized to the millimetre. Jared says a significant point of difference for PB Kitchens is its advanced design software, which creates realistic visualisations of the finished kitchen. This technology helps customers better understand how their new kitchen will look before manufacture begins. He also plans an upgrade to the integrated VR headsets so clients can virtually stand in and walk though their new kitchen. What further distinguishes PB Kitchens from its competitors is the personalised service from design through to installation. Unlike larger companies where customers might interact with multiple staff members throughout their renovation journey, clients work directly with Jared at every stage. “From design to installation I know what details we talked about, the decisions we made, and can ensure the kitchen is installed to the highest standard,” says Jared. Operating across the Rotorua, Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions, PB Kitchens caters to diverse needs from basic rental property kitchens to high-end installations. The company has grown entirely through word-of-mouth referrals, and Jared considers this organic growth speaks to customer satisfaction with both the product and service. “So far, I have flown under the radar, no marketing whatsoever, just word of mouth, so I figure I’m doing something right,” he says. PB Kitchens remains a family-run business. Jared brings a background in building materials, renovations and project management, and his wife and father provide support, meaning a very personal approach. The company’s focus on creating stressfree renovation experiences, coupled with its commitment to honest communication and reliability, has helped it establish a loyal customer base. As the company continues to grow, it remains committed to offering what Jared describes as “the best of both worlds”: pricing closer to the ‘big box store’ offering, and design and service like cabinetmakers “At PB Kitchens we are passionate about designing and installing beautiful kitchens that are not only eye-catching, but also functional and built to last, delivering a design that suits your lifestyle and budget.” • Beauty of natural Stone • Resilience & Luxury of porcelain • Affordability of engineered stone Quarzite ProQuartz Porcelain Marble Granite Benchtops that transform your home 07 8233 167 www.graniteworx.co.nz FEATURES OVERFLOW RATE OF 17.1 L PER MINUTE 304 GRADE 18/10 STAINLESS STEEL NOISE DAMPENING COATED SATIN FINISH CLIPS PROVIDED ACCESSORIES AVAILABLE
