Janani says the company’s strength lies in being able to manage fabrication, logistics, and installation efficiently under one roof. Like many in the sector, George Grant Engineering is navigating pressure from fuel costs, exchange rates, and global steel pricing. However, Janani says disciplined procurement helps reduce risk. “Whenever we win a project, we lock pricing in with suppliers straight away, so we can manage that pretty well.” Sustainability is another key focus, with the company renewing audits and memberships tied to environmental performance and responsible steel supply. “Steel is a very good option, because it is infinitely recyclable without degrading or losing any of its strength or quality, and is readily reusable at the end of a building’s life,” Janani says. “This circular process significantly reduces steel’s carbon footprint. The majority of our steel is now sourced from steel mills using electric arc furnaces rather than older, fuel-based systems, and the industry is improving all the time.” George Grant Engineering also holds recognised environmental credentials, and continues to review ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Looking ahead, Janani says the immediate goal is to steer confidently through current market conditions while continuing to build capability. Longer term, the ambition is clear. “Our motto is Building Success,” he says. “That means success for our customers, success for our staff, and success for the company.
