The company’s NZ Franchise Manager, Mark Pellow, says the level of support a franchisee receives is second-to-none. “If someone is interested in purchasing a franchise in a particular area they live in, then Just Cabins is the ideal option,” Mark says. When a person purchases a franchise they receive exclusive territorial rights to operate in, and full comprehensive training and ongo- ing support, including marketing, procedures and equipment manuals. “The franchises are turn key operations and all new franchisees are provided with uniforms, promotional material and operating equipment so they are ready to go from day one.” Mark thinks one of the reasons why the business has flourished, since founding in 2005, is the flexibility owning a franchise of- fers; franchisees can be as active or passive in operating their franchise as they choose. “Often it’s a second income for the owner, allowing them to continue their main job. Demand for cabins has exploded in the last few years for a number of reasons, so having a franchise provides a solid constant income stream and a great return on their invest- ment.” Cabins are usually leased on a long-term ba- sis by customers, giving stability and certainty to the franchisee. With a very volatile residential sector, expe- riencing month on month increases in average home values across the country, for many people, the option to stay where they are and expand their footprint by hiring a cabin, makes a lot of sense. Once new Franchisees are operating their franchise they have weekly meetings with the Just Cabin’s Franchise Development Centre Team. The purpose of the Franchise Develop- ment Centre team is to ensure all franchisees are as successful as they can be. Mark says there’s also a strong collegial net- work of support from one franchisee to another. “Having clear territories to operate in, means that it is not competitive between franchisees at all and those who have held a franchise for some years are happy to offer their advice and ideas to new ones coming in.” The cabins are assembled at two factories, located in Tauriko (Tauranga) and Rolleston, near Christchurch.
