The team at Apex Roof ‘n’ Clad comprises about 60 roofing specialists including contrac- tors. Different teams specialise in scaffolding, fascia and gutter, tile, and long run, and each of these crews has a designated project manager. A new role of project coordinator has recently been established in order to handle the administrative support to the project managers. “We are constantly working on efficiencies and workloads to ensure all of the projects we are working on run seamlessly,” Tony says. Finding the required tradesmen in order to grow is as difficult as ever, and Apex Roof ‘n’ Clad is advertising nationwide. “Finding skilled tradesmen in this cur- rent environment is challenging so we now recruit and train the skills required. We have a training plan in place where new staff are partnered with experienced roofers so they can grow their skill sets.” Apex Roof ‘n’ Clad, owned by Jake and Jess Tomason, has been in business for 10 years and is one of the largest roofing companies in Northland.
