22 | McRaes Global: R&B Property - Global Workshop REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT New workshop a ‘game changer’ Karen Phelps The Rotorua branch team at the site of the new hub. Proudly supporting McRaes Global Integrated Maintenance Group (IMG) will shortly move into a brand new purpose-built workshop, which will bring its Rotorua, Kinleith and Kawerau operations under one roof. Rotorua branch manager Christina Humphries says that this will bring untold benefits for clients. “It will be a game changer for the industry in the region as we can now offer clients a one-stop hydraulic and engineering workshop facility,” she says. The project came about when the Rotorua operation was running out of space and no suitable commercial premises could be found. This lead to Christina touching base with R&B Property and both companies have worked together to design the facility, which is based at Eastgate Business Park. Despite Covid-19 resulting supply chain issues, Christina says the project has stayed on schedule for a mid 2022 completion date. The new facility will span 2000sqm over two levels with half the space devoted to engineering and the other half to the hydraulics operation. Christina says this will enable IMG to further expand, creating job opportunities as it will be one of the largest hydraulics and engineering facilities in the region. “We see good growth opportunities in the Bay of Plenty and this will be a stepping stone to further growth for us. “This facility will significantly increase our capacity meaning faster turnaround times for clients. We are already looking to add to our team in both divisions.” to page 24 PLUMBING & DRAINAGE Locally owned & operated 021 033 0970 | renevandermaat@gmail.com RENE VAN DER MAAT COMMERCIAL • INDUSTRIAL • RESIDENTIAL
