Continuing growth and improvement Placing high value on their customers, suppliers and sta , Vijay Kumar and Semi Uele have transitioned the protective coating business they took over in 2005 to be one of New Zealand’s leading dry abrasive blasting and heavy duty industrial/protective coatings contractors. 100% Kiwi-owned, Auckland Abrasive Blasting & Coating (2005) Ltd (AABC) looks after the needs of many of the region’s steel fabricators including D&H Steel Construction, and many tier one contractors. “Our customers have been loyal to us for a long time, and that’s because we’re honest, upfront and rely heavily on our customer service, providing quick turnaround and quality,” says Vijay. “The majority of our customers are based in the Auckland region, but the work often takes us out of town to other regions throughout New Zealand. We have also done work in the Paci ic Islands, including American Samoa, New Caledonia, PNG, Cook Islands, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.” Vijay and Semi have not only grown the size of the business but have signi icantly increased the scope of projects. That has meant an upgrade to facilities, machinery, and plant to make it more e icient and user friendly for the team. AABC’s diverse range of projects now includes protective coatings, abrasive blast cleaning, painting, dry blasting, zinc arc spraying, industrial protective coating, intumescent ire proo ing and maintenance management. “We also specialise in application of Denso/Viscotaq/Polyken cold applied tape for corrosion prevention and sealing underground pipelines, langes, structural steel for oil & gas, paper & Pulp, water & wastewater facilities for harsh marine environments as well.” All applications are carried out as per ISO quality systems and inspected by AABC’s inhouse certi ied NACE CIP Level 2/SSPC: Thermal zinc C 12 Spray application coatings inspectors. “Our New Ultra-Modern European compressors with clean air iltering systems ensure there is no cross contamination on abrasive blasted steel. We have also invested in the latest spray equipment from Germany to apply specialised products, such as intumescent coatings, as most of the product’s applications require special pumps with heaters.” AABC’s Head O ice and principal shop facilities are in the Wiri industrial zone, Manukau. A covered area of 2200sqm is complemented with an open area of 2700sqm for ease of access. “We have large industrial sized blasting booths, that can accommodate large structures, oil ield equipment, masts and skids to tanks, vessels and spools. We have a new specially designed zinc arc spray booth for the application of all hot zinc metal spray projects.” Re lecting on in the past 17 years in business, Vijay says the support of customers, suppliers and sta has played a very important role in the success of the business. “We are trustworthy, respectful, responsible and fair in all our dealings and associations with customers and sta equally. Our company's goal is to continue growth and improvement programs through ISO 9001 systems, for our clients. In achieving the ISO 9001 Accreditation Certi ication, we have committed to take steps to improve our business to stand out in the marketplace.” AUCKLAND ABRASIVE BLASTING & COATINGS (2005) LTD 35e Mclaughlins Rd, Wiri, Manukau City PO Box 76867, Manukau 2241 09 279 2041 09 279 2058 aabc@xtra.co.nz www.aabc.co.nz ENGINEERED COATINGS SPECIALIST Metallic-Non metallic Abrasive Blasting Protective/Industrial/Marine Coatings/Hot Metal Zinc Aluminium Spray/Passive Fire Protection/High performance Urethanes Polisiloxanes/Tank Lining/Pipe Lining/Heat Resistance Coatings Concrete Coatings/Polibrid Coatings/Off Site Mobile Blasting & Painting We are proud to support D&H Steel Construction and congratulate them in their continued success
