They could see a gap in the local market for the type of work they excelled at and were excited to start the company. Today, almost two decades later, Kerikeri Cabinets are still manufacturing inspiring bespoke cabinetry, where the emphasis is still on meticulous design and execution. Ζt’s that attention to detail that, in Deana’s view, makes all the di΍erence. “We spend a great deal of time talking with our clients about their unique needs. By taking time in the early discussion phase, we end up really understanding what our clients want and that’s the part that makes our work so satisfying for us.” When the design and quoting is complete, the real magic begins! The team at Kerikeri Cabinets take pride in supplying cabinetry made using only the best hardware and materials. Using the latest manufacturing tools, and equipment combined with skills and many years of experience they work hard to create the finest products for their clients. ProMects range from large high-end Mobs through to smaller projects with varying budgets throughout – their clients want quality work and Kerikeri Cabinets believe in delivering the best. Their production schedule for 0 3 is already filling fast, though Deana is careful to point out that they do their very best to fit in proMects as opportunity presents. And equally, although a lot of the work is high-end in nature, she says they are there for any size budget that wants quality work. Despite the challenges of Covid, the last three years has seen more work than ever, bringing up the challenge of finding new sta΍ to help with the ever-increasing job load. Being a proficient cabinet maker is its own trade, requiring a three-year apprenticeship pathway to acquire all the learning. Deana says she and John have a great team, and hope to add an apprentice later this year. ȊWe will be looking for someone with a topclass work ethic and a willingness to become part of this profession. In return, they get to work alongside some real masters of the trade, creating cabinetry for some of the region’s most beautiful homes - with the bonus of a great work/life balance.” Over two years ago, Kerikeri Cabinets were one of the first companies in the area to o΍er a four-day working week, something Deana says o΍ers the team all the benefits that come from a three day weekend. Deana says the couple are proud of the company and the reputation it has achieved. “Working within this industry is both rewarding and satisfying, and we are pleased to be able to continue helping Northlanders realise their dreams.” The couple also value living and working in Northland; an exciting and positive region to be a part of. “We love it here and looking back on our time in business we feel we have given our valued clients the very best products and services. Our reputation has grown from referrals from happy customers and we really appreciate their support of us.” Your Business, Your Industry, Your News.
