Seamless, stylish fencing is a real point of di erence at Cambridge’s popular Norfolk Downs. Providing de inition and privacy where needed, the high standard fencing between homes and in key boundary areas contributes to the sense of this being a quality urban environment. As the fencing contractor for Norfolk Downs, Fencerite Waikato Ltd is proud of the high standard achieved by their team. Company founder Trevor Woolston is one of the region’s most experienced fencers, having started out building farm fences in the mid-1970s. He twice won the Golden Pliers Farm Fencing Champion title. Fencerite Waikato was formed in 2016 with the arrival of the Laminata Fencing System on the market, which saw the company then move into the residential fencing market. Cambridge-based, Fencerite Waikato’s team works throughout the region and o ers a full suite of fencing services from design to installation. Fencing can be pre-painted before installation, if required. “We also build timber gates up to a certain size or will recommend quality aluminium or metal framed gates, depending on the project and situation.” Fencerite Waikato is the preferred installer of Laminata in the Waikato and the company’s attention to detail with this system is very much in evidence at Norfolk Downs. “When Norfolk Downs’ project manager saw some of our Laminata fences in Hamilton, he knew it would be perfect for their subdivision,” explains Trevor. Laminata is an innovative, sustainably sourced, durable timber fencing system, produced by a sawmill in Kerikeri (Mt Pokaka) and incorporating cross-laminated timber construction. Fencing panels are made to interlock seamlessly to create a lawless mirrored inish. “From the moment I irst came across Laminata in 2016, I was so impressed by it. Around 90% of all the fencing we do now is with Laminata. What sets it apart from traditional, rough-sawn paling fences is that it’s designed to create the same inish on both sides. Unlike old style timber fencing, there is no ‘ugly’ side. The base board goes in irst and then once that’s set up at ground level, the H3 treated panels go in horizontally. Six of those plus the baseboard create a 1.8-metre fence. There are three layers of timber: in two of the layers, the grain runs horizontally while the internal layer runs vertically, so it’s a very stable product too and it comes from the mill dry with no shrinkage or warping.” Flawless fencing system adds quality at Norfolk Downs
