Bennett Homes Waikato and Bay of Plenty branch manager Joe Hardman says Matamata is growing quickly and has seen a lot of new development in the past three years. Its central location and proximity to large population centres has always given Matamata a huge advantage, and the completion of the Waikato Expressway last year has made these large centres even more accessible. Bennett Homes has 10 sections in stages 1A and 1B at Maea Fields. The section sizes range from 450sqm to 675sqm and the range of house plans selected from 130sqm to 150sqm. Bennett Homes has chosen these smaller but still perfectly roomy plans to keep costs down. “ We’ve got packages starting from $740,000 and that includes everything bar the curtains down to landscaping and fencing.” With their own in-house design team and quantity surveyors, Bennett +omes also oers the ability for clients to customise a standard plan or personalise their own design. Bennett Homes’ show home located at 1 Earl Road in Matamata is a good representation of what they oer. The 200sqm home features four bedrooms, master with en suite, a spacious kitchen, butler’s pantry, and a generous backyard with covered patio. “With no hidden extras on display and a realistic look at the fixtures and fittings, we want to show our clients exactly what they are going to get for their money,” Joe says. “What you see is what you get.” Bennett Homes was started by Aaron Bennett in Matamata in 2009. After Aaron relocated the existing home from his property and built three new houses on the site, he realised he was onto something that he could oer to the market. “That’s what started the vision,” Joe says. “We could develop land, build new houses, and sell house and land packages. It showed our ability to diversify, oer more options for purchasers, and cover the wider market by being able build on clients’ land or our own by securing sections in other subdivisions like we’ve done at Maea Fields.” Bennett Homes has now branched out to the South Island with its second show home in Invercargill, servicing the Southland and Central Otago areas. This branch was opened after Aaron took a family trip to Invercargill and couldn’t get past the opportunities in the region. He saw that the majority of local builders were building big homes on big sections, leaving a gap in the market for smaller, more aordable homes on standard sized residential sections. “We saw an area where we could add a lot of value and oer a product that suited the region really well.” The Invercargill show home has been built to represent what Bennett Homes can do for growing families, retirees, or for farmers looking to add a cottage to their property. The 110sqm transportable home features three bedrooms, master with en suite and walk in robe, and spacious open plan living.
