On track to becoming a leading harness racing complex and a first-choice events, business, and community hub in the Waikato region, Cambridge Raceway is undergoing some exciting developments in its most drastic renovation for more than 100 years. Cambridge Raceway is steeped in history. From its humble beginnings over a century ago as a trotting club, it has built on its heritage and evolved into a multipurpose entertainment venue and the home of Harness and Greyhound racing in the Waikato. ȊWe have some really exciting plans underway to enrich Cambridge Raceway’s presence within our community,” says Cambridge Raceway CEO Dave Branch. “Our plans include upgraded rentable event and oɝce spaces, accommodation facilities, a new multi-purpose enclosed stable complex, and BFT gym. The venue updates will enable Cambridge Raceway to play host to regular entertainment and sports events, conferences, and private functions, as well as additional premier race meetings. Cambridge Raceway has already taken a significant leap towards its goal of becoming a first-choice events hub with the recent launch of a new catering section, O΍ The Track Food & Bev. Led by head chef Michelle Thomson, O΍ The Track Food & Bev has taken over all of Cambridge Raceway’s on site catering and also provides an out catering service. “It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to be part of something so embedded in the Cambridge way of life and the harness racing industry,” Michelle says. “Bringing the hospitality sector to life for Cambridge Raceway and showing what we now have to o΍er our community is an exciting venture and one I am ready for.” Dave says the creation of the catering business is a critical step towards enhancing the event experience o΍ered by the raceway. “We’re all about raising the standard and creating unique experiences that exceed expectations, and we’re thrilled to now be able to o΍er a full service in house solution for clients who choose to have their events at Cambridge Raceway.” Cambridge Raceway has a wide array of indoor and outdoor venue spaces available for hire for a variety of events including weddings, birthdays, seminars, trade shows, meetings, markets, and funerals.
