112 | LIFESTYLE Oceania Healthcare: The Bayview Village T T Karen Phelps Location, views popular with residents The Bayview also includes villas and a state-of-the-art care centre. The location, proximity to the city and views of Otūmoetai, Mount Maunganui and the port have made The Bayview in auranga a winner with residents, says Oceania Healthcare Chief Executive Officer Brent Pattison. “It’s a lovely vibrant community and residents there are loving life.” Formerly known as Melrose Retirement Village, The Bayview has transformed under the ownership of Oceania Healthcare, which has been designed by Peddlethorp and built by Watts & Hughes Construction. Originally there was an old building on the site and some villas. Now there are more villas, apartments, shared amenities and a care centre. The most recent release was 28 apartments completed late last year and some are still available to purchase, a mix of one and two bedroom and two bedroom plus with a space for an office, study, media room or something else. All two bedroom options come with an ensuite off the master bedroom plus a separate guest bathroom. Brent says the apartments, many of which boast stunning views of The Mount, incorporate quality finishes and features to make everyday living easy and enjoyable. An open-plan design and a modern kitchen make the living spaces ideal for entertaining, with most apartments featuring a versatile encloseable balcony for indoor-outdoor flow all year round. A heat pump and double-glazing ensure comfort no matter the season, and with a 6 Homestar Built rating, the apartments will be warmer, healthier and cost less to run than a typical new home, he says. The new apartments will also feature stunning communal facilities including a bowling green, gym, workshop, café, cinema, library, bar, craft room, lounge, dining, BBQ area, and a private pool and spa with views of The Mount. Additional amenities include an on-site hairdresser, physiotherapist, and podiatrist. The Bayview also includes villas and a state-of-the-art care centre with room options suitable for both couples and singles. The two storey care facility will cater to around 60 people offering hospital and rest home level care and the aim has been to create a facility that allows in lots of natural light and views – particularly important to ensure a warm living environment for residents. People can choose from either a studio care suite with an open-plan bedroom and lounge, or a one-bedroom care suite with a separate bedroom and living area. Some care suites are large enough to accommodate couples, so people can be together – even if one of them • Commercial • Data Communications & Audio Visual • Heat Pump & Air Conditioning • Industrial • Residential • Service &Maintenance • Solar 07 575 2746 office.bop@aoteaelectric.co.nz aoteagroup.nz PROUD TO SUPPORT OCEANIA HEALTHCARE Intumescent application & Laser - Cleaning
