Luxury living on generous sections and not a cookie cutter home in sight were non-negotiable considerations for the key stakeholders of Cambridge’s Sun Estate development that is being delivered by AHS Group. Just two minutes from Cambridge town centre and easy access to the motorway, Sun Estate forms part of a larger parcel of land purchased by The Health Hub Cambridge Ltd. AHS Group assisted with site investigation and feasibility. Based in Hamilton, AHS Group predominantly specialises in project managing developments in the medical field, and the Sun Estate development was born from that focus. “We have long standing clients in the medical profession who were looking to build a Health Hub in Cambridge,” says AHS Group’s Managing Director Peter Davenport. “We found a twelve-hectare site which is the perfect location, and acting on the behalf of the Cambridge Health Hub Company, AHS Group purchased the land. “The land area was more than what was needed for the Health Hub development, and so Sun Estate and a compact residential development is the happy by-product of that acquisition.” The total development will ultimately encompass the Health Hub, a compact residential development with a mix of very high quality duplex and standalone homes, and the Sun Estate. “The compact housing is currently going through resource consent, with some civil works still to be completed, so we’re looking at later this year to start construction. We are targeting the back end of this year for the civil works for the Health Hub.” Master planning for the overall development was carried out AHS Group, working collaboratively with design consultancy, Medical Pacific, its sister company. While Kotare Consultants did all the specific surveying work in regard to the roads and section sizes, for Sun Estate, Civil Construction was carried out by Cambridge based Camex Civil. Kotatre Consultants and Camex Civil are also involved in the Health Hub and compact housing stages. The Sun Estate development embraces a vision for 32 luxurious architecturally designed homes, completed over three stages, with no two homes looking remotely the same. With earthworks complete, and titles imminent, the first ten houses have already been designed with three now offered to the market. Peter anticipates that construction will commence within the next three months.
