60 | Individual designs High-end architectural homes on section sizes ranging from 750sqm to 900sqm are planned for Sun Estate. T T from page 58 AHS Group DEVELOPMENT “There is no real theme to the development, but every house must look different, and we have selected about eight different architects that will bring their individual design nuances to the table, to ensure we really do get a broad spectrum of architectural tastes and very desirable homes. “We wanted to develop high-end architectural homes that standout, sit on section sizes that are larger than the typical section size in Cambridge. Section sizes will range from 750sqm – 900sqm. “The minimum house size will be around 250sqm and some are close to 400sqm. We are also trying cater for the different needs and lifestyles that buyers might have, so there will be a diverse range of typologies from single to double storey, a mix of three, four and five bedrooms, and a mix of materials.” While remaining sympathetic to Cambridge’s old-English look and feel, Peter makes the point that there are some very contemporary homes being designed for the estate. “Lot 8, which is one of the three on the market right now, is built from precast and structural steel, and by no means a conventional dwelling. Though some of the smaller houses might be a little cheaper, price points will start around $2.5 million and then upwards of $3.8 million.” AHS Group has the role of end-to-end project manager, and main contractor for the development, using trusted contractors as required to do the physical work. Peter acknowledges that while you can build a major health hub as envisioned for Cambridge, attracting medical professionals to make it work is critical, and from that perspective, Sun Estate and the compact housing development complement the medical facility. “At the moment there’s quite a drift from Auckland, which we hope to benefit from. A big driver for doing the houses like this is to attract quite of a few of those sorts of people, as well as other professionals and business people who might be looking for a change in their lifestyle and are attracted to what will be a very luxurious and high-quality development. “There may even be professionals or business people looking to settle in Cambridge from overseas, and enjoy the quieter Waikato lifestyle, and all the sporting amenities available to it. Cambridge is a massive growth area that is expanding in all directions.” Founded in 2015, Peter and his business partner Paul Williams, along with the team from consulting and project management firm Medical Pacific and Paul Williams Consultants, grew frustrated with their daily interactions with standard construction and interiors companies, marking the genesis of AHS Group. “We predominantly operate throughout the wider Waikato region and venture as far north as South Auckland, and as far south as Taumaranui, however for the right project we’re looking at land acquisitions further afield. “Working in the medical field, service is key and being involved right from land acquisition through to turn-key, assisting our clients is big thing for us. We are a bit of a one-stop shop, providing multidisciplines. “While our projects are predominantly medical facilities for the private medical sector, we also do a lot of bespoke residential and commercial projects for clients.” Connecting People, Creating Communities. We’re a dynamic civil construction company that is passionate about creating spaces & infrastructure built for tomorrow.
