Versatile Homes - Pukekohe BUILDING Operated by Wenny and Arean Lubbers, Versatile Homes Pukekohe, engages in projects over a wide South Auckland area that extends from Port Waikato in the west to Clevedon in the east. Wenny’s association with the national brand stems back some 15 years when he was engaged as operations manager, responsible for setting up all the systems. Today, he and Arean are not only busy leading Versatile Homes Pukekohe, but two other businesses as well. Versatile’s array of standard buildings are made in the brand’s Christchurch factory; however, Wenny says there’s considerable variety to their service offering for customers, ranging from light industrial through to commercial and residential work. It’s this variety that he and the team enjoy. “I have two of my own builders and engage a number of subcontractors that I’ve developed relationships with over the years. It’s a very effective and efficient model to work to. The whole team stretches to upward of 40 talented people, who produce great work,” says Wenny. When growth in the Pokeno township exploded, this created a significant amount of work in that district. “Prior to that, we had been doing the occasional house, but this development really spurred on demand in the housing sector.” Wenny is kept busy looking after the sales team, undertaking the engineering and design work along with visiting sites, QS costings and project management, so no two days are alike. While the traditional backbone of work has been supplying sheds, garages, and rural buildings to standard designs, or custom-built to suit a customer’s specific needs and situation, Versatile Homes offers a broad array of building services. To enable the amount of work that flows across his desk to be successfully managed, Wenny has developed excellent data management and production-meeting systems. This means he’s able to guarantee a build will be Mastercraft Kitchens are proud suppliers of quality designer kitchens and cabinetry for Versatile Homes 16C Wrightson Way, Pukekohe (Inside Guthrie Bowron - Mega Centre) 0800 888 458 | www.mastercraft.co.nz PROUDLY SUPPORTING VERSATILE HOMES - PUKEKOHE p: 09 236 3684 e: sales@wecksitm.co.nz Proud to be supporting Versatile Homes - Pukekohe m 027 438 0283 k randtdrainage@xtra.co.nz For all your residential drainage requirements, Sewerage treatment systems • Water Tanks • Septic Tanks delivered on time and to budget. “We are very busy at the moment, which is great. In contradiction to a lot of builders, we have a lot on. Currently we have $6,000,000 of contracts we’re fulfilling.” A show home in Tuakau offers visitors the opportunity to view the quality of work and the attention to detail put into every build. “We’ve had several show homes over the years, but it’s important to stress we never build a standard home. “Some people come to us with their own plans, while others want to create a design from a collection of needs and wishes they have. Fortunately, we have our own drafting team at head office that can cater for this. “We also get involved in house-and-land packages for other builders. My aim isn’t to be the biggest operator, but to build on our reputation of delivering projects to the highest-possible standard.” Versatile Homes Pukekohe adopts a wraparound approach to its builds, taking care of council processes. “We can do the whole process from surveying, resource and building consents to getting the CCC.” The company has a proud history, too, of scooping awards, and Wenny is a firm believer in entering building competitions as a way to consistently put the message out on the quality and capability of the company’s projects. He knows the company’s reputation is based on offering great quality and being honest. “Relationships with our clients are so important to us. We want their experience of us to be so positive and straightforward.”
