Qestral Corporation’s newest retirement development, Ashbury Heights, has welcomed its first residents as the village’s initial stage reaches completion. Simon says the development breaks away from standardised accommodation, with most homes being standalone and available in various sizes and designs. Residents can choose from two- or three-bedroom options, low-pitched or high-pitched roof designs, all with either single or double garages. “The concept is to create a complex that is open and expansionary, and not intensified. There is a large amount of garden and green space around each home, with innovative landscaping designs and use of sculptures and other features to give each home a distinctive look,” says Simon. Independent homes offer an optional ‘butler’ service as an intermediate care package, helping residents remain self-sufficient longer. This includes telehealth care via an internally developed healthcare technology, weekly housekeeping and nutritious meals delivered directly to residents. Upon completion, the village’s main building will house a range of facilities, including a bar, restaurant, café, movie theatre, swimming pool, spa and wellness centre, alongside serviced apartments. Simon says these serviced apartments will provide residents with convenient access to central amenities, on-site healthcare assistance and meal options. Various service packages will be available to match different support needs. The Care Centre offers premium hospital and rest home-level care in a state-of-theart, single-storey facility. It features spacious, dual purpose care suites generously sized in 25sqm and 30sqm, all with ensuite bathrooms and private decks. “This means generally there is no need for people to move rooms, and that residents will continue to have access to staff members they are familiar with, depending on requirement,” says Simon.
