SPLASHBACKS FOR KITCHENS, BATHROOMS AND MORE! Excellence in bespoke cabinetry is what Pacific Coast Kitchens of Omokoroa Road in Western Bay of Plenty has been delivering for more than 20 years. Over that time, the company has been transforming kitchens, laundries, wardrobes and whole- house cabinetry fit-outs, interior and exterior, with Master Joiners craftsmanship and local customer care. Since taking over the business in 2016, Eric and Leyna Thompson have grown the company’s capabilities, invested in new plant and trades staff, and have had a recent project featured in House & Garden magazine. “That was a whole house lot for a new home at Orokawa Bay, Waihi Beach, which was pretty cool,” says Eric. “We’ve designed and installed quite a few beautiful high-end fit-outs for new homes and renovations throughout the regions, including Mount Maunganui, Waihi Beach, Te Puna, Tauranga and all the way to Opotiki. We’re very accessible for that lower Coromandel and BOP area.” And it’s not just kitchens. “Anything cabinetry, we’ll build it,” Eric says. That includes entertainment units, bookcases, outdoor BBQ set-ups, and even custom motorhome interiors, and recently, a galley refit on a fishing boat. Their use of cutting-edge design software enables clients to visualise their space with photorealistic renderings and walkthroughs before a single cut is made. “We can provide clients with a video of their designed space as well, if they need help to visualise it. We’re upgrading our edge bander to a new laser machine, a move that will enhance quality and efficiency further, and we use precision CNC machinery to cut all our projects out.” The PCK team of 16, led by Eric, a master joiner with decades of experience, handles every aspect from initial concept to installation. As members of the Master Joiners Association and NKBA (National Kitchen and Bathroom Association), they also provide peace of mind through industry-backed warranties on all their projects. Pacific Coast Kitchens partners with Blum and Hettich for high-performance hinges and lift systems, and Cosentino for premium engineered stone and porcelain bench tops. Recent projects include a bespoke kitchen for an architect’s home in Te Puna, featuring concealed entrances, bar area, and window seat, and another architectural kitchen for an Ocean Beach Road home in Mount Maunganui, including vanities and laundry in plywood and painted finishes. They have also completed a modern reception/office and cabin fit-outs at Bowentown Holiday Park, and completed a joinery and cabinetry installation at Rotorua Hospital’s Children’s Ward. “We’re also about to start on providing joinery and cabinetry for the conversion of a Tauranga warehouse into basketball courts for the local council,” says Eric. The team works with a network of trusted trades for a seamless renovation experience. Collaborating with homeowners, builders, architects, and interior designers, the business aims to deliver projects that consistently exceed expectations. By engaging with clients early on, Pacific Coast Kitchens can help shape ideas, and make sure the design works from day one. Grounded in craftsmanship, quality, and customer care, Pacific Coast Kitchens compares favourably with larger production companies without compromising on quality.
