The Warkworth-based company operates across three core areas: engineering and supply, gas and water infrastructure, and general plumbing and gasfitting services. Together these arms allow it to move seamlessly between large-scale commercial and industrial projects and smaller household requirements “The company’s capability has been built through decades of hands-on industry experience and the specialist skills of its growing team,” explains Cameron. “It’s really about having the right people with the right experience. That combination means we can respond to very different customer needs.” Cameron’s background spans both New Zealand and Australia, having worked extensively in the gas sector, particularly in Australia, after starting his career as a plumber and gasfitter in New Zealand. That mix of field experience and technical knowledge has helped shape the business’s practical, solutions-focused approach. Northern Gas & Plumbing was established with his wife Jodine after returning to their hometown, building on Cameron’s 18 years of experience working for leading plumbing and gas companies across Australasia. With regards to gas and water infrastructure the company undertakes significant infrastructure work across New Zealand, including gas systems at major facilities such as Auckland Airport, Northshore Hospital, and large-scale industrial sites. Cameron says these projects require precise engineering, strict compliance and careful coordination across multiple disciplines. When you’re dealing with critical infrastructure, there’s no room for error,” Cameron says. “Our engineers, gasfitters and project teams all understand the standards required and the responsibility that comes with that kind of work.” Northern Gas & Plumbing also provides specialist services for boats, caravans and motorhomes, delivering gas safety checks, leak detection, appliance installation and certification across Auckland and the Upper North Island. The business also operates a dedicated engineering and fabrication workshop, producing precision gas components including valves, regulators, stainless steel fittings and custom-built parts. Cameron says the workshop supports both internal projects and external industry requirements. “Having in-house fabrication capability strengthens our flexibility and responsiveness,” says Cameron.
