Gardner Franklin/Papakura is busy building a number of homes in Au- ranga in Drury. Franchise owner Mike O’Meeghan says that G.J. Gardner Franklin/ Papakura is pleased to be a building partner in the development, which is in a “hot spot” of Auckland. “Drury is where a lot of growth is happening right now. And Auranga is right in the heart of it all,” he says. Located in the Karaka Drury area, Auran- ga lies on the inner reaches of Manukau Harbour’s Pahurehure Inlet, just west of Drury Village and within easy reach of Auckland’s international and domestic airports and the city’s CBD. Mike says the development is attractive to purchasers with ample green spaces, walk- ways, a dog park, cycle tracks and waterway access. The development includes a five kilometre long three metre wide paved esplanade that wraps around the coast. Around 100,000 plants have been planted alongside the wa- terway. Mike says that details such as rain gar- dens around drains to treat stormwater and footpaths that are mixed with aggregate add more character to the development, which will also include a retirement village including a country club, a village centre, jetty and play- grounds. Auranga is being developed by Charles Ma through his company Made Group. The 2700 section housing project will es- sentially create a brand new community with the aim of putting people at its centre and creating a more fulfilling life for residents who will number around 7000. G.J. Gardner Franklin/Papakura is offering a variety of house-and-land packages – includ- ing duplexes and stand alone homes. One has already been sold and completed. A small number of sections are also available where people can choose a design and build option. But land is selling fast and Mike advis- es people don’t delay in securing a section. G.J. Gardner Franklin/Papakura has a show- home in Auranga. Located at 10 Ahunga Road, the 295sqm two-storey home offers four bed- rooms and three bathrooms, two living spaces and a double garage. Clad in brick and weatherboard, the home showcases the workmanship and finishes available. It is open for viewing Tuesday to Sunday 11am-3pm. G.J. Gardner Franklin/Papakura first opened its doors in 1997. Since July 2010 the franchise has been independently owned and operated by Mike and business partner Jeff de Leeuw who are the owners of MJB Construction. Mike has come from a corporate merchant background within the construction industry having worked for PlaceMakers head office for 10 years. Jeff, who has a civil engineering background, has been working within the G.J. Gardner Group for over 20 years, 17 of these as a franchise owner, firstly in the Coromandel and more recently as an owner in the market leading Hamilton franchise.
