DEVELOPMENT Auranga - Brant Design and Build A new show home in Auranga due to open mid-2021 will showcase the high performing homes offered by Auckland building company Brant Design and Build. Company owner Greg Penfold says he would like to improve the energy efficiency of homes in New Zealand by embracing sus - tainable building practices, energy efficiency and promoting the use of higher performing products. The 260sqm showhome will be clad with bagged brick on the ground floor and board and batten on the first floor and comprise four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Greg says that the showhome provides a flexible floor plan in a well-proportioned design with great family living in mind. “Multiple outdoor living spaces ensure that families can enjoy living outside as much as they will inside,” he says. Brant has been designing and building homes across the Auckland region for over 30 years. The company is distinctive in that it is not a franchise but is locally owned and operated. It employs its own team of carpenters, bricklay - ers, quantity surveyors and project managers rather than outsourcing. Company sales and marketing manager Megan Purvis says this allows for a greater quality control as well as ensuring efficiency in the completion of projects. “We are bigger than most but smaller than the larger franchised companies. “This means we have enough scale to deliv - er cost savings to clients but we can also offer an exceptional degree of personal service, as I am personally involved in every project to ensure that the quality standards are met,” says Greg. This approach has seen the business con - tinue to grow over the years as the number of customers has likewise increased with many returning as repeat customers. Brant offers a full design and build service or can build from clients’ own plans. It also offers a range of home and land packages in Auranga where it is building both freestanding homes and duplexes. Brant also builds passive homes as the exclusive eHaus licensee in Auckland. “Ultimately we consider ourselves to be an innovative building company,” says Megan. “We build what our clients want but with our know-how and ability we are keen to introduce into every build as many energy efficient features as we can. “This means providing clients with a high performing home to a high standard of qual- ity.” Megan says that Brant is delighted to be part of the Auranga journey and to support the vision of developer Charles Ma and his team in creating a development with strong community connections and the environment at its heart. At present Brant Design and Build is work - ing on a variety of projects across Auckland including an early childcare centre in Hender - son, a three house development in St Heliers, executive home in Half Moon Bay, a large con - temporary home on a lifestyle site in Karaka and builds in Auranga.
