BUILDING Oliver Tuck Construction Ollie says one of his favourite features is the textured Ambitec natural plaster ceiling in the kitchen, lounge and dining areas. Taking pride of place a minimalist dark-toned kitchen contrasts with the ceiling above. Site access and the construction of a giant underground retaining wall were among the building challenges. One of the things Ollie most enjoyed about the project was the team environment and the relationship with the clients that provid- ed the ability to give attention to detail and finish, ensuring that it was in keeping with the landscape. “The whole mood behind the project was amazing — spirits were always high. It was a beautiful place to work, we had awesome materials to work with and the owners were lovely people — perfection really.” Leaving school at 16 to pursue a building career, Ollie formed his own business in 2013. Over the seven years Oliver Tuck Construction has evolved to a team of 19 on the tools with two in the office. “A couple of years ago my wife Miriam came on board and that has been a real turning point for us. She’s an incredibly well qualified, hard working and passionate person running the office and helping clients with selections and interiors. “We work very hard together and to have the family environment in the business has been pivotal for us.” Based in Ruakaka, Oliver Tuck Construc- tion operates anywhere from Mangawhai to Russell. While the company has completed a range of projects including complex civil works, it tends to focus more on challenging bespoke architectural residential projects. “That’s what we enjoy doing along with working with interesting people. “Our unofficial mantra is to keep the pro- jects interesting, challenging and fun. “We have a real drive to be kind, fair, honest and hard working. If we want to be remem- bered as anything that would be the most important. “The quality, attention to detail and crafts- manship comes along with it. “The by-product from a really good team and team environment is really good work.” " Proudly supporting Oliver Tuck Construction " LONG RUN ROOFING AND CLADDING RE ROOFING & SPOUTING EDGE PROTECTION ph: 021 562 269 | Wetaroofing@xtra.co.nz Terry Mounsey Director
