Low Energy – Low Maintenance – No Sludge Production Innoflow Technologies NZ Inno ow wastewater treatment systems are sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions designed to blend right into the landscape, says company CEO Mark Andrews. “With our treatment plants all that people see are green lids. We design systems where people can ush and forget, knowing that their wastewater is being well taken care of and meets all the environmental requirements,” he says. The fact that clients include the Department of Conservation and Auckland City Council speaks volumes about the low impact and low lifetime cost of an Inno ow system. Mark says that with any wastewater treatment system it’s important to not just consider the upfront but rather the whole of life cost. He says that typically it takes just seven to nine years for the Inno ow system to pay back the bene ts over a cheaper competitor’s system. This is largely due to lower maintenance costs, e ciency, and energy savings. In fact the Inno ow system’s energy consumption is normally 80-90% lower than what other systems in the market are consuming, he says. Nitrogen reduction is another important aspect of the Inno ow technology. “Our technology is highly e ective at reducing nitrogen levels, which is vital as it helps to protect our environment and waterways” - says Inno ow NZ Business Development Manager Craig Litherland. Inno ow pumps have a ve-year warranty and expected life of 15 - 22 years, which he says is “unheard of in the industry” where pumps are typically changed every three to ve years. “Our systems are extremely e cient. For example our domestic 4000 litre primary tank allows solids to break down e ciently meaning de-sludging is only required around every 12 years for a three person household,” explains Craig who says that other systems on the market typically need to be pumped out on a three-year cycle. The second part of the treatment process utilises AdvanTex® treatment technology, which has been proven globally to give reliable consistent performance for over 20 years, he says. The technology is also scalable and can be expanded over time as a property development grows providing signi cant cost e ciencies. Treated wastewater from the plant can be distributed via drip irrigation onto people’s landscape gardens saving the homeowners potable water. “This means the wastewater becomes a resource and an asset,” says Mark, Founded in 1994 Inno ow is the New Zealand, Australian and Paci c Islands distributor of high-performance wastewater technology products by Orenco® Systems Inc. in the USA. Based in Auckland and providing a nationwide service, Inno ow works with engineers such as GWE developing new wastewater systems and upgrading existing systems for a variety of residential and commercial sites that cannot be connected to the council system. Clients include homeowners, developers, and councils. Inno ow works on projects ranging from solutions for a single house to multiple dwellings, whole communities and commercial projects. Craig says that Inno ow’s in-house design engineers, project managers and servicing personnel, enable it to o er a one-stop-shop approach from initial feasibility right through to delivering the project, supplying, installing, and maintaining/servicing the system for life.
