This custom-built parapet was integrated from the ground up, forming part of the interior wall and extending through the roof at the rear of the house. “This feature added a distinctive architectural element, creating a focal point that set the home apart from more conventional designs,” Sean says. “It was fun figuring out how to add it in, as it provided a creative challenge that wasn’t integral to the structure, but offered something unique and different for the client.” The exterior of the home is a stunning mix of materials, with large bricks cladding part of the structure, while the rest is clad in Taxon timber. The combination of these materials and its Colorsteel roofing provides a thoughtful blend of textures and colours, making the home both visually striking and durable, while fitting in perfectly with the surrounding Maungatapere landscape. Completed within six months, this project showcases the craftsmanship and attention to detail that Breckon Builders brings to every project. “This home is all about quality,” Sean says. “With two horizontal pavilions crossing one vertical pavilion, there were a lot of corners to make square.” By incorporating design features like the parapet, Breckon Builders continues to demonstrate its creativity and commitment to building homes that reflect the personal tastes and preferences of its clients.
