Topline Carpenters T T Sue Russell “We understand what a huge thing it is for our clients to see their new home built, their existing house transformed and we are as excited as they are.” BUILDING Ask Ricki Cotter, of Tauranga-based Topline Carpenters what great carpentry is all about and he has plenty to say. “It is about creating spaces that our clients absolutely adore, surpassing their expectations in every way, paying meticulous attention to detail and the care we take into each and every build,” Ricki explains. Proudly one of Tauranga’s top renovation businesses, Ricki and the team know just how important their work is to their clients and the transformative nature of what they will achieve, regardless of the budget, the size and nature of the renovation, including recladding leaky homes. Topline Carpenters works across the Bay of Plenty. And with year’s of experience behind him, having worked in Christchurch post the earthquakes he’s in the best position to offer solid, sensible advice. It’s this collaborative engagement that defines the relationship he has with clients and has forged the reputation he and the team enjoy today, considered one of the best renovation businesses in the region. Gathering decades of experience behind them means that Ricki and his team of professional supervisors on site, are familiar with all manner of build process, from general framed house construction to the intricate details of finishing carpentry in high-end homes. “Be it simple in nature or highly complex we always deliver the highest quality. We understand what a huge thing it is for our clients to see their new home built, their existing house transformed and we are as excited as they are. That’s what drives us.” It’s the sheer range of projects Top Line Carpenters engages in that hallmarks the company’s reputation in the competitive Bay of Plenty market. “Just as much as large projects we enjoy the smaller ones, from bathroom renovations, outdoor entertaining spaces or transforming a home with new cladding. We have extensive experience in both interior and exterior carpentry.” The outstanding quality of their work was highlighted at last year’s Bay of Plenty House of the Year Awards where an extensive renovation and transformation of a home, affectionately called ‘Love Again, Actually’, impressed the judges, winning a regional silver award. “The owners of the home were considering moving away, given the growing nature of their family however they felt a strong pull to stay in the neighbourhood they loved, so they decided to stay and renovate. Best decision they could have made.” The 1990’s home underwent a full reclad, new roof, with double-glazed windows and new interior paint and flooring. Added to this extensive work, bathrooms and kitchen were fully renovated and the home extended to give much needed room for the family. A master bedroom with walk-in robe and ensuite was added to one side of the house and a further living space built onto the existing lounge, with decking linking the new additions seamlessly. “By adding floor-to-ceiling cavity sliders between the two living rooms gave the family the option of being in one large space or two smaller areas.” Ricki says they were delighted with the industry recognition of a fabulous project well done. “It’s literally transformed the home and given the family so much pleasure. It blends modern and functional with sophisticated and stylish.” Ricki also has the role of NZ Business Connect Regional Manager as Topline Carpenters is a main sponsor for events that teach other business owners new ways to improve their business. There’s a strong ethos of Social Giving that permeates the business, demonstrated when Ricki undertook his first ever skydive from 12,000 in order to raise fund for The Graeme Dingle Foundation. With an optimistic sense of the year ahead, Ricki and the team look forward to plenty of opportunities to show-case the quality of their work, in a region they love to work and live in.
