Transbuild T T Sue Russell BUILDING South-Auckland transportable building specialists, Transbuild, finished 2025 on a high note when they unveiled their latest architecturally inspired show home in front of an enthusiastic audience of 150 guests at its 17000sqm facility in Drury. The event provided an opportunity for the company to showcase the quality, flair, style and design details that places its residential and commercial buildings at the forefront of the market. The day began with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting led by Sam Paterson, CEO of Transbuild, followed by a moving blessing from Maaka Potini of local iwi Ngāti Tamaoho, the recognised guardians of the Papakura area. A new show home, the Ruapehu four-bedroom/two bathroom home, took centre-stage at the grand opening, while guests also had the opportunity to step inside two other homes, the Huxley 120 and the Kawerau 119, along with two ready-to-deliver homes awaiting transport on trucks. The design features of the Ruapehu include high raked ceiling, tiled bathrooms, and the feature upgrades, including enterainment and entrance feature walls, and stone bench tops with overhead cabinetry to the ceiling. He also noted that these elements create a spacious, architectural feel throughout the home. “All the cupboards have high-quality cabinetry and there are a lot of storage options,” says Sam. “Our specialty is larger-sized homes up to 180 square metres, and our bread-andbutter are homes from 100 square metres to 180 square metres, so there are plenty of options for people to consider.” Sam emphasises the founding vision of helping Kiwis achieve a place to call home, is central to how the business is conducted. “We’ve never altered from that aspiration, and we’ve created a culture, backed by solid business systems, that put integrity, transparency and partnership at the heart of everything we do.” Transbuild’s people and standard of service are its major point of difference and the reason why the business has enjoyed 13 years of success to date, in an industry that can present its fair share of challenges. “While seeking the very best value outcomes for our customers, we’ve always placed design, quality materials and excellent construction systems to the fore. We see the response from people stepping into our show homes, pleasantly surprised by just what can be achieved.” And because the entire build process takes place at the factory, homes and commercial buildings are constructed on time, unimpeded by the weather. “We have all the component parts for each home stored on-site, within easy access of the experienced builders, so there are never delays due to supply issues. Build efficiency equates to direct cost benefits for homeowners, who know from the outset when their home will be delivered.” Offering complete turnkey capability goes hand-in-hand with the construction of their homes and buildings, something Sam says gives customers peace of mind, right through contract agreements, council consenting, delivery on-site, hooking up services, and landscaping. “We’ll happily manage the whole process for them. Customers want assurance they can trust a company that can manage the entire process at a fixed price. We have highly experienced site managers, who handle all the necessary site works.” Sam says business was very good last year. While the construction sector has had its challenges of late, he says the factory is full of homes and buildings being constructed, with Transbuild has specialist operators across all divisions, including a very good sales consultancy team able to provide new customers with lots of options and ideas to consider. “We have up to 28 different residential house plans, and a new range of granny flats will be unveiled soon, given the introduction of legislation enabling smaller dwellings on existing properties without building and resource consents.” Commercial projects are just as much a core activity, bringing Transbuild into business relationships with government agencies, farming and horticulture operators.
