His advice is to ensure a chosen roofing company is a member of RANZ, (Roofing Association of New Zealand) and is fully qualified to undertake any work. RANZ members are vetted for competency, ethics, and adherence to industry best practice, and are accountable to a code of conduct. If there are problems with a job, RANZ can provide mediation. When engaging a roofing company, people should be sure a licensed building practitioner will be on-site supervising, know what the installer’s experience is, and that the contractor has public liability insurance and site-management policies. “There’s been multiple roofing companies that have gone under in the last 18 months and most notably, four big ones,” Marc says. “Unfortunately, some people have lost deposits, and by the time they come to us they are really wary, which I can understand. Sadly, we do see some horror stories.” However, most customers’ worries are relieved when Marc explains Roof Auckland is a member of RANZ with a long and successful track record and has many examples of successfully completed projects, along with numerous positive five-star Google reviews.
