The redesigned space, featuring a dedicated area where builders, architects, and interior designers can meet clients and review plans, has quickly become a major drawcard and a clear point of difference for the long-established Stanmore Bay business. Rena says activity this year has exceeded expectations, with many suppliers surprised by the volumes coming through. “We’ve been really busy this year, which has been a real bonus,” she says. The new design area is positioned at the heart of the showroom, offering a large central table for flat lays, space to lay out floor plans, and a comfortable environment for decision-making — complete with a coffee machine for clients and trade partners. “It’s been incredibly well received,” Rena says. “Builders and designers can bring their clients in, sit down properly, and go through every detail. “It helps them win work, and it helps homeowners feel confident in the choices they’re making, while having our team on hand to answer any of the technical questions.” Alongside the showroom upgrade, Midway Flooring’s turnkey service for builders continues to deliver strong repeat business. The company manages the entire flooring scope — from consultation to measuring, quoting, floor plan overlays, scheduling, and installation — allowing builders to step back and rely on Midway Flooring to handle the full process. “We make the builder’s life easier as they are busy enough with construction,” Rena says. “They can send their customer straight to us. We take the floor plans, plan the job, and project manage the whole flooring component. They barely need to be involved at all.” With SiteSafe certification and experienced installers specialising in carpet, vinyl, laminate, timber, and engineered timber, the business is well-equipped for both residential and commercial work. Clients receive a detailed visual layout of where each flooring type will go before installation, giving them clarity around transitions, seams, and materials. Demand for hard flooring continues to grow, particularly for laminate, timber, and vinyl planking. “We’ve seen a big rise in hard flooring. Rena and Adam purchased the long-running company three years ago after more than a decade working across mining, forestry, engineering, project management, and property development in Australia and New Zealand. Most carpets offered by the business are locally made in Auckland through Feltex, Bremworth, and Godfrey Hirst, with environmentally accredited suppliers used across timber and laminate ranges.
