During Michael’s 18 years with Gibson O’Connor the company has undertaken a diversity of projects for the Ministry of Edu- cation, Ministry of Defence, Auckland Council and more recently Kainga Ora. “We’re not a gigantic company and a typical project is around that $10-15 million dollar mark. More recently we’ve been focusing on commercial/industrial type projects like ware- houses and office buildings. That has evolved through us getting along very well with a few developers and undertaking a lot of repeat business.” Michael believes the company’s reliability and financial stability to be key factors in the company’s success and being selected by its customers. “There is a lot to be said for the financial stability of a company like ours. Our company has in some ways always been quite conserv- ative which has rewarded us pretty well. We don’t price projects at silly numbers that don’t work just to get a job.
