| 41 RETAIL Firm’s long history of innovation and excellence Kitchen Things key brands include Smeg, Miele, Bosch, Samsung, Asko, Neff, Gaggenau, Falcon, Sub Zero, Wolf and many more. M ark Jones founded the Jones Family Business (JFB) almost forty years ago and the company has grown to en - compass import, distribution, retail, commer - cial and after-sales service. Today Mark runs the business with daugh - ter Rachel Louie with the intention of passing the business from generation to generation. JFB brings premium appliances to market through its retail arm Kitchen Things. Kitchen Things has a network of 19 stores across New Zealand including the revolutionary flagship showroom Kitchen Things Luxury Collection in Newmarket, Auckland. Kitchen Things key brands include Smeg, Miele, Bosch, Samsung, Asko, Neff, Gaggenau, Falcon, Sub Zero, Wolf and many more. Product categories encompass wall ovens, freestanding cookers, cooktops, rangehoods, dishwashers, refrigeration, waste disposers, taps, sinks, washing machines, dryers and small appliances. Mark says that JFB is proud to have pio - neered many appliance technologies that Kiwis now take for granted. For example JFB import and distribution arm Applico brought Smeg to the Kiwi market in 1986 and it pioneered the European cook- ing experience in this country, says Rachel. Applico also introduced ASKO, Inalto, Baumati, Classique and Applico-branded appliances. Continuing its trend of pioneering appliance technology, JFB helps customers learn about and invest in innovative products including blast freezers that can freeze and slow cook, integrated cooktop ventilation and full steam ovens to keep moisture and nutrients in the food. Kitchen Things offers vacuum drawers to allow sous vide cooking and a range of free - standing cookers that have all of induction, gas, steam oven and self-cleaning oven. Jones Services, JFB’s network of expert service people across New Zealand, was cre - ated in response to 35 years struggling with substandard appliance delivery, installation and repair services. “Jones Services ensures that the premium European appliances JFB offers can be expert- ly installed and serviced,” says Mark. “In fact, Jones Services is the only national service agent appointed to service the Smeg, ASKO, Inalto, Classique, Baumatic and Applico ranges of appliances. Depending on location it can also service other premium brands includ - ing Bosch, Miele, Samsung, Neff, Gaggenau and Falcon,” he says. With the intention of providing a full-service offering to consumers, Jones Services can now also carry out installations and service repairs on selected gas products. Jones Services is the only New Zealand business that has a team of technicians who can service electrical and gas appliances, says Mark. “Using external experts we have imple - mented new systems and processes and are achieving first time fix rates at a much higher level than ever before, creating increased capacity, along with improved customer satisfaction. “Jones Services is proud to offer real service from real people to deliver customer-focused solutions.” Both Mark and Rachel say that the Jones Family Business is dedicated to supporting the entire customer journey from product research, to purchase, to delivery and after sales servicing. They aim to remain a powerhouse of appli - ance expertise for generations to come.
