RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT JT Sca olding started with just four sta in 2019. Since then the company has grown hugely and now boasts a team of 34 based from Auckland to the Waikato and Bay of Plenty. A true family operated business, based in Hamilton, JT Sca olding is operated on a daily basis by director Jayden Watene who has nearly a decade of experience in the sca old- ing industry across Australia and New Zealand. Sister Kayla is in charge of the administration side of the business and mother Michelle is also a share- holder. Jayden says the aim is to provide clients with an extremely personal service and a one-stop sca olding shop. JT Sca olding can provide everything needed for a worksite - sca olding, edge protection, safety nets and temporary fencing. Jayden says growing a great company culture has been a priority from the outset where mates look out for mates. It’s a true team culture that has originated from Jayden’s love of playing rugby. This results in safer sites, a more enjoyable experience for clients and high quality project outcomes. It is on the back of this that the company has had such rapid growth. It is currently working on a number of high pro ile projects in the Tauranga and Te Awamutu areas. One-stop scaffolding shop Jayden says a strong focus is placed on health and safety on all jobs with good systems and proce- dures in place plus a goal of going above and beyond usual require- ments. For example JT Sca olding not only checks tags but has a health and safety o icer that complete a full audit report on the sca old. “It’s about taking the extra time and care so our clients feel secure they are meeting all requirements and the site is safe for the workers,” say Jayden. The team is all highly quali ied and regular training and up-skilling is the norm. Quali ications held include First Aid Certi icates, Working at Height, EWP Licensing, Con ined Spaces and Site Safe Passports. JT Sca olding is presently working for Sentinel Homes Waikato, a major client, at Rototuna, completing sca olding for all its new home builds. Jayden and owner of Sentinel Homes Nate Alley both grew up in Tokoroa and Jayden says he inds Nate’s success inspiring. He aims to continue to grow JT Sca olding to meet the growing demands of successful business owners such as Nate, in order to keep servicing their sca olding needs so he can contrib- ute to the success of his clients so they can continue to grow.
