| 67 RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT Searle Group - Patumahoe Hill Searle Group’s Patumahoe Hill development has proved incredibly popular with all 76 sections already sold. Licensed surveyors, town planners and land development consultants Madsen Lawrie Surveyors Ltd o er a long history of service in the South Auckland and Waikato regions where they have longstanding working relationships with developers such as the Searle Group. The practice was irst established in 1957 and has worked continuously from a Pukekohe base since that time. Now headed by Licensed Cadastral Surveyors David Lawrie and Ben Young, who are members of Consultant Surveyors Group NZ and Survey and Spatial NZ, the practice has ifteen other employees including surveyors, engineers, planners, draughtspersons and o ice support sta . David says that it is the knowledge and experience o ered by the team, many of whom have been with the practice for a number of decades, that has played a large part in the company’s success. Over the years Madsen Lawrie Surveyors has been involved in major residential and industrial developments in Pukekohe and also in Waiuku, Tuakau and smaller rural settlements. In South Auckland in particular, where it completes the majority of its work, the company has played a large part in helping to shape the area working alongside small and large developers including the Searle Group. David says that Madsen Lawrie completed its irst project for Searle Group in 1973, an extension of Moloney Terrace in Pukekohe. This can involve the design of the necessary roading and service layouts, calling for tenders from contractors, supervising works in progress and completing the necessary checks and approvals required by Councils,” explains David. At present the company is completing work for the Searle Group in Patumahoe, Coromandel township, Runciman and Pukekohe. “We’re very happy to have been working for Searle Group for so many years and hope this will continue into the future.
