The 202sqm four bedroom home includes an ensuite and walk in wardrobe in the master bedroom, separate bathroom, kitchen with scullery and open plan living/dining with a separate lounge. Sam says that the modern family home is a good representation of the high quality builds that Platinum Homes delivers. “At Platinum Homes we aim to build solid homes that stand the test of time using high-quality products that are well proven in the market,” explains Sam. “For example all our homes are built to high wind zones with more structurally sound brac- ing elements than the building code requires. “This focus on quality flows through every aspect of the business including our systems and processes, which have been designed to back up a quality build process.” Platinum Homes Rodney is a preferred builder in Milldale and is offering a range of house and land packages as well as options in Wahi Awa at Maungawhai. The franchise, covers from Silverdale to Mangawhai and out to both coasts. Platinum Homes is New Zealand owned with show homes nationwide. It was founded by a group of private business people in the Bay of Plenty region in 2003. CEO of Platinum Homes Dave Andrews says that low interest rates, the willingness of the banks to lend and having Kiwis return home has seen the regions boom. “We are also seeing internal migration from larger cities as people realise they can work from home. As soon as we open the border I predict we will get such a huge demand from overseas people wanting to come to live in New Zealand, as it will be seen as a desirable place to be. That will put more pressure on the current building boom,” says Dave. He expects that 2021 will present challenges in terms of supply and increases in pricing for many in the construction industry due to Covid-19 but expects that Platinum Homes will benefit from loyalty and group buying power, helping to mitigate effects. “Supply and demand rules. We will see a definite impact in price increases across the board due to demand, pressure on the supply trade and shortage of tradies.” He says Platinum Homes is focused on help- ing to relieve New Zealand’s current housing shortage: “We are building as fast as we can and in greater numbers than ever before. But at the end of the day it comes down to land development, and that is something we don’t control. Government and councils need to open up land. This is stopping the growth of housing construction in New Zealand – not the building industry.” The quality remains long after the price is forgotten.
