It means that our customers, our members, are genuinely our most important stakeholders. “We have no external shareholder that we have to satisfy. We are here to deliver value to our members, which goes to our purpose: to help our members get well and stay well.” Examples of this in practice over the years abound. In 2007, it was the first insurer in New Zealand to introduce non-smoker and healthy weight discounts. Recognising the importance of digital channels, it was the first health insurer in New Zealand to offer online quotes and applications, and in 2017 its online underwriting platform (HUGO) made Accuro the first health insurer in the world to offer instant online cover. HUGO won Accuro the Innovation of the Year award from the Australian and New Zealand Insurance Industry. Lance says Accuro has always focused on the wellness of its members and in 2018 it launched Active Benefits, a range of free initiatives designed to support and enhance its members’ health and wellbeing. Benefits include Best Doctors, giving members access to a world of medical experts and second opinions; the online Health Hub, which provides free health support and resources to members; and a new Mental Health tool with quick and easy access to mental health diagnosis and professional support. More recently it has partnered with leading decision science platform Montoux, on a pilot programme to identify early interventions that could help its members avoid major invasive surgeries, and to celebrate its 50th year has become the principal supporter of the Life Flight Trust Air Ambulance service. Lance says that over 50 years Accuro has always remained true to its core reason for its existence: delivering value and great outcomes back to its members. This year it has embarked on a major technology project – a rebuild of its core policy administration system, which Lance says will ensure that Accuro can continue to innovate and evolve in the future delivering new products and services and improved customer experience. • 85% majority of calls (first call resolution) are resolved by our Service Desk • We are 100% client focused and always striving to improve our service in any way we can P 04 471 0421 www.mercuryit.co.nz Offices in Christchurch, Wellington, Hamilton, Tauranga, Melbourne, and Auckland Find our free audit here: mercuryit.co.nz/free-it-audit An IT company that works with you, Not against you.
