In its 25 year journey Extreme Boats’ has carved out a reputation second-to-none. “We are New Zealand’s most awarded Aluminium boat manufacturer and that really says something about the skill-set and commitment of all who work in the company,” says Marketing Manager, Mat Cranswick. Each year, Extreme Boats builds about 300 boats across 20 different models. All aspects of the build process are carried out on site, from the design to the cutting of the material, folding, fabrication, painting, upholstery and fit-out. Making this happen is a talented team of around 100 skilled staff. “We really pride ourselves on the build quality and performance of our boats. They’re designed to not only look and perform great but also stand the test of time.” From the factory, boats then go to an extensive dealer network throughout New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, Europe and the United States. There, the outboard installation and final fit out are attended to before being handed to the owners. “We really pride ourselves on the build quality and performance of our boats. They’re designed to not only look and perform great but also stand the test of time.” Mat says, that being keen ‘boaties’ means that the team know what is required to make a boat not only perform exceptionally well, but be practical and functional in nature. “We don’t only build boats, we use them.” Mat says each model built comes with a wide range of optional extras, while there are multitude options for seating, bait stations etc, which enable each client to tailor a boat to their specific requirements. “A boat is a significant investment and these things really matter to the discerning buyer.” Always looking for new operations to grow the business and present buyers with new options, the owners of Extreme Boats has established Legacy Marine, for those wishing to travel further and spend longer on the water. A line of four high-end Aluminium Motor Yachts have been designed ranging from 35 feet, right up to over 70 feet in length. “After a two year build the first Legacy Motor Yacht, the L70, has just hit the water. It is just over 70 feet in length and is powered by twin 1900hp V12 Mann diesel inboards with 9000lt of fuel below deck.” It’s an exciting era and Mat says everyone at Extreme Boats is very proud of the launch of this new venture. “I think that’s one of the aspects of the company that is exciting to be involved with. “ Everyone is thinking ahead and working hard to find new ways to offer the market exceptional quality boats to suit every ‘boaties’ wishes.”
