Echo Homes T T Kelly Deeks BUILDING Echo Homes is showcasing its latest home at One Tree Point, giving Northland buyers a glimpse of what’s possible for their dream home in 2026. The new show home, in The Landing subdivision, is designed to highlight the company’s outstanding craftsmanship, premium materials, and practical designs tailored to the region’s growing residential market. Echo Homes’ managing director, Sam Chapman, says the new show home is a milestone for the company. “It’s a straightforward build, but it really shows our quality, our preferred style of building, and the products we use,” he says. “People can see what’s possible in terms of design and finish, and it helps them imagine their own home.” The home features imported San Selmo bricks, James Hardie cladding, Velux skylights, and high-stud ceilings. Sam says the bricks are a standout, popular for their texture, colour variation, and premium look. “They’re not a cheap brick, but they really elevate the home and give it a unique character.” Echo Homes has also completed multiple client builds in The Landing, a flat, coastal subdivision within walking distance of the harbour and local beach. The area appeals to a mix of residents, from young families to retirees, and recent releases in the subdivision mean new opportunities for buyers. After a strong 2025, Echo Homes has expanded its team, with a new project manager joining the company in March. “It’s been me running everything the last couple of years, so bringing in extra support will make a big difference,” Sam says. “There does seem to be an upward shift in demand, even though election years are always a bit funny.” A cabinetmaker by trade, Sam started straight out of school and spent time working in Kalgoorlie, Australia, before focusing on residential project management. “There are so many moving pieces in a build – clients, subtrades, suppliers – so organisation and people skills are just as important as technical knowledge,” he says. For Echo Homes, strong relationships underpin everything. Regular communication with suppliers, subcontractors, and council planning and consenting staff ensures builds stay on schedule and meet quality expectations. Sam says these connections are especially important when juggling multiple projects. “It’s the basics done really well. We check in with council inspectors ahead of time, maintain trust with our subcontractors, and make sure our clients feel informed at every stage. Those relationships are what keep everything running smoothly.” Echo Homes targets the $600,000 to $1.2 million mid-market, offering custom designs, standard plans, and house-and-land packages. The company handles design through to council consenting, construction, and handover, providing clients with regular updates, fortnightly photos, and projected schedules for each stage. Clients can also work with a colour consultant to choose finishes, flooring, cabinetry, and bench tops, and meet with electricians and kitchen suppliers to fine-tune their designs. “We build homes that meet our clients’ needs as well as those of the site,” Sam says. “Every client has different tastes, and our goal is to provide practical, efficient solutions while delivering the home they’ve imagined.” With Northland continuing to attract newcomers for the lifestyle, climate, and coastal access, Sam says now is a good time to consider building. “We’re well positioned to help clients through the whole process, from design to handover, with quality and efficiency. “It’s an exciting time for people wanting to create a home that will serve them for years to come.” Flooring & window furnishings for every style & budget.
