It can be a high-end product or more economical depending on the clients’ budget.” CONTRACTING In 2018 Parneet Singh decided to add installation, service and maintenance to the air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems design service he’d been offering for 10 years. New Zealand owned and operated Pro HVAC Solutions has been providing comprehensive design, installation and maintenance services ever since. What began as a team of three has steadily grown to 12 as Parneet’s relationships with commercial clients, such as Euroclass, Design & Build, Aintree Group Limited, Statesman Projects, Focusplan, Dentec Limited, Citycare and New Space have deepened, and Pro HVAC’s reputation for reliable solutions has spread throughout Auckland and across New Zealand. “We offer clients a one-stop shop,” says Parneet. “We do the design for building consents, coordinating with the architects and getting the clients’ feedback about what sort of system they want. It can be a high-end product or more economical depending on the clients’ budget. “We get the design through council, price it, install it, do all the final documentation once the project is completed and hand it over to the client ready for the CCC (Code Compliance Certificate) process.” Pro HVAC Solutions are cost effective not only because they do everything themselves but also because of the depth of experience in the company which means that they’re solving potential problems before they happen, explains Parneet. “We’re not a consultant looking at the project from the outside. Right from the beginning we know the development, the structure of the building and the other services that are involved. “We talk with our guys in the field, read the drawings, and consult with the architects and the structural engineers at the design stage, so at the building stage any clashes have been avoided.” Their quoting is meticulous and without too much in the miscellaneous column as they accurately assess what’s needed, and the only time they charge variations is if there’s another system added to the whole project, not if it’s minor tweaks and changes. Parneet has strong relationships internally as well as externally. “My team is the heart and soul of the business; without them we wouldn’t be where we are today with zero returns to any jobs. We’re on top of our game.” That’s one of the reasons that Pro HVAC takes Health & Safety seriously, encouraging people to speak up at their regular meetings and to go beyond the necessary documentation to actually look out for each other on site, and use common sense at all times. Seven of the team of 12 are in the field, three of them fully engaged with the servicing and maintenance side of the business. One of them is an IQP (Independent Qualified Person). Compliance companies use Pro HVAC to get their yearly SS9 Compliance Form 12A sign-off for Building Warrant of Fitness (BWoF) on behalf of the building owners. “It’s regarding air conditioning and ventilation so it’s the fresh air that’s going into the occupied spaces of the building, which is critical, that we sign off on,” explains Parneet.
