But this year we are under the pump already. T to page 14 “We have only just got the coolstore panels out of Auckland. We have a Plan B up our sleeve, but essentially the coolstores need to be ready.” “At the busiest part of the season, it is a challenge to balance our harvest and labour demands. “We use buffer storage to level out the peak of the gold kiwifruit harvest. We have in- stalled humidity tents on Packhouses 2, 3 and 4 to control the humidity so that the stickers adhere to the gold fruit coming out of buffer storage to be packed.” In addition to Trevelyans post harvest facilities, the family business also provides comprehensive range of orchard manage- ment services on behalf of kiwifruit and avocado growers in Te Puke and the wider Bay of Plenty region.
