Hard on the heels of the opening of the James Pascoe Group’s Silverdale Mall, the neighbouring Briscoe Group retail develop- ment will include 4,400sqm of combined retail space across Briscoes and Rebel Sports stores as well as four additional retail speciality stores, a café and both covered and open carparking. The project, being built by Macren- nie Commercial Construction, is expected to create 30-40 new jobs. Located on the corner of Central Boulevard and Milner Avenue, the land has been owned by the Group for a number of years. Kelly says it is a strategic location to service the growing Silverdale area. Customers at the Group’s nearest store in Albany had also been asking when Briscoes would open in Silverdale fur- ther adding impetus to the decision to build the new project. She says the Briscoes and Rebel Sports stores will feature the Group’s latest store formats with a new look and feel including aspirational areas, dedicated spaces for kids’ products, accent lighting, LED displays and improved flooring. In both stores there will be more emphasis on ‘experience’ shopping with displays and product demonstrations. One of the adjacent retail speciality stores has already been leased to a well-known national brand and the Group are currently in discussions with another known brand inter- ested in leasing the café space.
