Within strolling distance to Kaipara College, Helensville Primary School, Helensville town- ship and the supermarket, Parkview is also just over the road from Rautawhiri Park. Offering tennis, courts, netball courts, rugby and football grounds a skate park, and chil- dren play grounds, a newly built walking track around the park’s perimeter joins into walking tracks in Helensville township and leads down to the river. Beyond the park, a rural outlook of farm- land leads to the oft-painted McKenzie Hills. In close proximity to Helensville, in the northwestern district there is plenty of amen- ity to choose from, embracing natural hot pools, surf beaches, a significant international equestrian centre, with many other equestri- an facilities in the area. There is a motocross track, a mountain bike park in the forest — the biggest in Auckland – and of course the region is home to some of New Zealand’s favourite wineries. In addition to all of this magic, Parkview is but twenty minutes from Westgate township, which will boast the biggest planned town centre in New Zealand’s history. Consisting of 153 residential lots averaging 600sqm in size Parkview is being developed by experienced property and land developers Oliver Scott and Conal Dempsey, operating as Urumaraki Residential Ltd (URL). Oliver says Parkview is designed to appeal to a broad demographic starting with first homebuyers. “Some first homebuyers are managing to get into Parkview at around the $900,000 mark — which, for Auckland, is a pretty good price for four bedrooms, two bathrooms, double garage property. But it also caters to existing homeowners wanting to get into new homes, right through to retirees who in some cases have sold up in other parts of Auckland to move to Parkview. Paying $900,000 to $1.3 million for a home here, those people have often been able to bank half a million dollars, and still have a beautiful home with everything they need.” Consisting of five stages, the first three stages have been completely sold out with stages four and five currently being sold together. “Quite a large portion of stage four is sold out. We’re in negotiation for adjoining land which will enable another sixty single residen- tial lots, and again bigger 600sqm sites. “We’re also looking at other adjoining land and that could lead to further stages.” Dempsey Wood Civil has undertaken all civil work at Parkview with G.J. Gardner Homes, Generation Homes, Golden Homes and Stonewood Homes selected as the developers group homebuilders because of their reputa- tion for quality. While each builder is offered land as each stage is released, a large portion of each stage is retained to sell direct to the general public. “If the purchaser buys from us direct they can use the builder of their choice, though many decide to use our build partners,” says Oliver. “Price points for section only are now ranging from $500,000 to the low $600,000s. In general they are fully serviced, with fibre optic, water, wastewater and power.” One of the oldest towns in Auckland, Helensville is enjoying a growth phase as Aucklanders discover the virtues of living there, close to their favourite pursuits.
