Commitment to excellence rewarded Hirepool’s North Shore branch has taken out gold at the 2021 Hire Excellence Awards. The awards provide a platform for assessing, recognising and rewarding excellence of hire companies. Judging includes an onsite visit where a rigorous audit is undertaken and a mystery shopper. Hirepool general manager of sales and marketing Gary Richardson says the award win is a huge accolade for the branch and the wider company. “It’s a big deal and is validation of the work we’re doing and that we’re certainly on the right track,” he says. Located in the heart of the Wairau Valley, Hirepool North Shore services a large footprint from Devonport, Takapuna, Mairangi Bay over to Beach Haven and Birkenhead. Gary says that over the past 12 months Hirepool North Shore has had a signi icant upgrade to provide customers with an even more seamless experience. This includes addition of polished concrete loors, installation of specialist showroom lighting, repainting the showroom and outside yard areas, landscaping of gardens and installing outside navigation signage as well as a new retail section called the ‘Toolshed’ which has been designed and stocked speci ically to help time constrained contractors in the area. “We’ve changed the layout and design to make things easier to ind and there is also key information for consumers to aid in their decision making around the tool speci ication and application for the job. “We are also now o ering a wider range of items with everything from safety gear, welding equipment and plastering gear to chainsaw accessories and snack food items making us a one-stop-shop and saving our customers time,” explains Gary. Hirepool’s extensive website has also been upgraded. In the past 18 months it has added online ordering, which allows customers to book equipment online for either pick up at a selected branch or for delivery to a chosen location. The website also includes a series of educational video content for both the trade and DIY segments to help ensure customers get the best out of their equipment hire while also ensuring they are using the equipment in a safe manner. Gary says the Hirepool North Shore team is an important factor in the gold award win. Branch manager Reid Stephen places a big emphasis on training and quali ications to ensure his customers get the best advice possible. Customer satisfaction is regularly measured to make sure everything is on track with indicators being extremely high. Gary says that Hirepool’s values extend to supporting the communities in which it operates to build a better New Zealand.
