Expertise and experience was what secured RPL Services the high pro ile Winstone Wallboards project, says RPL Services director Tony Renner. The company had previously worked with Fletcher Building on the Fletchers BPC Southern Pipeline 1.6km steel pipe under the Tauranga harbour towards Matapihi proving its ability to get the job done no matter how challenging the project. It was in February 2020 that Fletcher Building announced the relocation of its Auckland based Winstone Wallboards manufacturing, and distribution operation to Tauran- ga. Fletcher Construction is the main constructor and is working alongside two other Fletcher Construction specialist businesses with Brian Perry Civil undertaking the concrete founda- tions, detailed excavation, piling and ground improvement. RPL Services was awarded the bulk, detailed excavation contract in July 2020. RPL Services started with an excess of 20,000cm Gap 150 as a running coat to bring the ground clay to level. It then actioned bulk earthworks and footings with supply and delivery of GAP 65 material. All metal was provid- ed by its own quarry Oropi Quarries Limited based at McPhail Road, Tauranga meaning RPL Services could provide the client a complete solution. Tony says that his head contracts manager for RPL Services, Kevin Dunham, Transport Manager Mike Big project, big success Bailey and Quarry Manager Kiley Jones, all proved instrumental with the successful day-to-day operations of the project with their team. Renner Partnership Limited (better known as RPL Services Limited) is based in the Tauranga/Western Bay of Plenty region.
