Matvin Group CEO Ryan Keogh says the mixed retail destination site has another three permanent buildings already completed, including a Z service station, a childcare , and one medical building under construction with an opportunity for further medical buildings The office pods’ site longer term will be utilised for another larger buildings “The team designed and built these architectural office pods which range in size from 70sqm to 120sqm and they are built to the latest seismic standards and corrosion standards to be suitable for any site that are ultimately relocated to The buildings are designed as transportable and can be lifted off the site for reuse longer term” Matvin Group strives for sustainability so creating office pods that can be reused, have a low impact on the existing and future environment, and make efficient use of resources was a real win for the project. Even the attached concrete patios have been built in a way they can also be lifted and relocated. As well as getting a functional use for a period of time out of this well-located site, one of the biggest benefits of this boutique development is the housing of five different businesses on the prominent Hibiscus Coast Highway, The pods were designed by Gel Architects, engineered by McNaughton Consulting, and built by Matvin Group’s construction company MAKO Commercial. Ryan says Site Manager Daryl Saussey and Quantity Surveyor Leon Sandford played crucial roles in the success of the pod project, with Leon making the numbers come together, and Daryl managing the delivery on site. Matvin Group has been working in Silverdale since 2013 and more recently has commenced work on The Botanic Retirement Village located in Silverdale, which has been an exciting and rewarding project. The Silverdale office pods project gained a finalist position at the 2022 New Zealand Building Industry Awards for projects under $4 million. Ryan says Matvin Group entered the project for its uniqueness and its meeting of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria and its innovation. “This is one of those is really beneficial - and we are proud of our teams efforts to deliver a successful outcome”
