Sue along with her husband Roger, a builder with over two decade’s experience, started Golstruct Homes in 2007. Sue comes from an accountancy and financial background and brings considerable expertise to this important aspect of their business. Roger manages the builds and being a builder himself has a good eye for detail and quality, says Sue. As members of Registered Master Builders, the company offers the Master Build 10-year guarantee providing cover for loss of deposit and non-completion. It also covers defects in materials, workmanship and structural defects as well as rot and fungal decay cover. Golstruct Homes builds in west and north of Auckland. Sue cites the main points of difference the company brings to the market as being easy to deal with due to the flat management structure and a personal service as clients deal with Sue and Roger on every build. This results in short build times and affordable fixed price contracts. “For example, we can offer a higher spec than the usual, for a good price. This is possible due to the way the company is operated – directly by us – and working with a trusted fixed team of subcontractors who we can rely on to produce high quality work within time frame,” she says. The company has a range of plans but Sue says the focus is on design and build. “We have never built a house the same as one of our plans. The plans are mainly to give clients ideas and inspiration. Each home is unique and designed for the specific needs of the client and their site,” she explains. Golstruct Homes has a range of house and land packages available in Milldale including two level terraced homes offering four bedrooms. They range from 171sqm to 181sqm and include a single garage and separate carpark. There are two full bathrooms and one separate toilet and also a small study. Two outdoor living spaces open out from kitchen and living area. Sections for these homes range in size from 170-270sqm. Golstruct Homes also has various standalone house and land packages in Milldale ranging in size from four to five bedrooms over 180-300sqm. Sites are 350-600sqm and each section is ready for a customised design for the specific client. There are also options where plans have already been designed and consented by council for those that desire a faster build time frame.
