Richmond Fellow, designed by Context, is rede ining the essence of community living. Comprising a total of 111 terraced houses, the project is not just about constructing homes; it's about crafting a community where residents can thrive, say Context architects Ysabelle Empiso and Anton Fenwick. “The vision for Richmond Fellow spans beyond the physical structures; it embraces the idea of creating a vibrant and interconnected neighbourhood where residents can truly put down roots,” says Ysabelle. Context was involved in Richmond Fellow from start to inish, completing the subdivision consent, designing the homes, undertaking planning and building consent and site observation. The underlying concept behind the architectural strategy was to provide a proposal that integrated with the existing Richmond development but also introduced more depth of character to the overall neighbourhood. One standout feature of Richmond Fellow is the use of handmade bricks imported from Italy. These bricks serve as a real design feature and harken back to the site's history as a quarry, infusing a sense of heritage and authenticity into the development.
