22 | DEVELOPMENT Jones Group: Aurora Development Fifty-one homes are now complete or under construction at Aurora, with the first families now living in the subdivision. Aurora’s head of sales Karl Finn says there is huge demand for homes in quality, well designed subdivisions within Hamilton at present. “We are one of the fastest developing cities in the country, with signi cant growth seen in recent years thanks to a ordable living costs, thriving local businesses and our broad appeal to young families. “Aurora is a great place for growth and opportunity and savvy purchasers are seeing it as a good place to position themselves to capitalise on the investment and growth projected within the area.” Aurora stands as the first large-scale subdivision within the Peacocke growth cell, a project that has been in the planning stages for over a decade. When the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund was unveiled in 2016, Hamilton City Council secured a substantial $290.4 million funding package. This package included a $180.3 million interest-free loan over ten years and $110.1 million in subsidies from the Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency. “We have worked alongside Hamilton City for the past three to four years to help facilitate and integrate key infrastructure and to ensure our respective projects are aligned,” says Tristan. “Hamilton City has been great to work with and it’s exciting to see so much energy and activity in one area.” Aurora’s offerings are diverse, with a mix of housing and sections designed to accommodate families of all sizes. The development’s master plan was crafted by award-winning Construkt Architects featuring typical sections as well as duplexes and higher-density terraced housing areas. The strategic placement of higher-density housing, overlooking reserves and areas with enhanced Aurora - a great place for growth T T from page 21 amenities, ensures a consistent architectural vision throughout Aurora. Selected build partners are actively engaged in constructing these homes and bringing them to market. To maintain design consistency and quality, a Design Review Committee closely monitors the homes within Aurora. Tristan says this approach fosters a harmonious architectural outcome while adhering to best-practice urban design principles. The development’s focus on preserving natural features ensures that Aurora strikes a balance between affordability and opportunity, embodying the vision of becoming a high-quality, vibrant, mixed-housing community that residents will take pride in. Aurora’s allure extends beyond its wellplanned housing options. The subdivision boasts elevated sites offering breathtaking views, seamless connectivity to the wider Peacocke area, and over four hectares of open space and reserves. The community’s design includes proposed cycleways, walkways, pedestrian bridges, green spaces, reserves, a children’s playground, and a neighbourhood centre filled with convenient shops and cafes. The planned neighbourhood centre within Aurora will be strategically located near walkways, a playground, and a pedestrian bridge, offering a diverse array of amenities likely including a café, grocery store, and local shops. This community hub aims to provide residents with the opportunity to socialize, dine, and relax just minutes from their homes, fostering a sense of community and enhancing the overall living experience. “Aurora is a testament to the city’s commitment to growth, innovation, and quality living spaces,” says Tristan. “It is poised to become a thriving community where residents can enjoy the best of urban living within a harmonious natural environment. As the development continues to evolve and more residents move in, it serves as an example of what can be achieved through collaboration and vision in the realm of urban development.” Specialising In All Fencing AGRICULTURAL ⁄⁄ LIFESTYLE ⁄⁄ RESIDENTIAL COMMERCIAL ⁄⁄ RETAINING WALLS ⁄⁄ MUCH MORE 027 346 6379 sean@ful lyfenced.co.nz // www.fullyfenced.co.nz Phone: (64)-7-858 4959 Email: design@mgla.co.nz Website: www.mgla.co.nz MANSERGH GRAHAM LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS ARE PROUD TO BE INVOLVED WITH THE JONES GROUP DEVELOPMENT Your Business, Your Industry, Your News.
