Roger Ramsey Builders T T Kelly Deeks BUILDING With more than 30 years of building experience in the Waikato, Roger Ramsey Building has the extension and renovation process down to a fine art. All while providing a turn-key solution so clients can sit back and watch their dream come to life as the experienced team handles all the design, engineering, consenting, administration, problem solving, and construction. “There is a lot that goes on prior to starting construction, and we take care of all of that, taking each client through the journey to completion,” Roger says. “The consenting process has changed a lot as councils look to cover themselves as much as possible. Nothing is straightforward, but with our experience of a wide range of renovation projects, we know what to do and how to do it.” From small alterations to major rebuilds, Roger Ramsey Building applies the same drive for excellence and 100% workmanship guarantee. “We are only as good as our last job. Our work history shows 90% of our work comes from referrals of satisfied customers, and our clients can expect the best to ensure we earn their valued recommendation.” Roger Ramsey Building is typically the first port of call for clients looking to renovate, and Roger gives them a one-stop-shop or a package unique to their building and service requirements. He meets each client on site to get an idea of what they are thinking of doing, then introduces them to his preferred designer to get preliminary plans, then costings. He will help clients to understand their quotes, as this is an area that can commonly cause confusion for the inexperienced. “A lot of clients will only look at one thing on the quote, the number at the bottom of the page. But the other seven pages also contain information they need and if they miss it, their dream home can turn into a nightmare.” Clients can enter their building contract from a knowledgeable position once they’ve understood what certain aspects of the quote means, Roger says. “A provisional sum is part of the quote that has been estimated, and may increase or decrease as the project progresses. “To avoid budget blow-outs, it is essential to find a builder who takes the time to understand your financial priorities and provides you with a real, honest quote. “In most cases, even if a fixed price quote is higher than an estimate quote, you would do better to take the fixed price. Estimates can change as your build proceeds, but a fixed price means the builder has generated a quote based on a realistic idea of your expectations and the plans provided. “Large variances in price between multiple quotes should be queried. The devil is in the detail here,” he says. “Just because something is cheaper, doesn’t mean it’s better, and you could be paying less upfront for building work that isn’t guaranteed, or isn’t completed on time. “Don’t just take the references the builder gives you, but ask around people who have used them before and use avenues like social media to find out how efficient, respectful and honest the builder was with their past clients.” Local painters for all your internal and external painting needs. 021 716 765 | office@elitepaintco.co.nz Aluminium Joinery Manufacture Frameless Glass Showers Splashbacks Glass & Glazing Mirrors Proudly Supporting Roger Ramsey Builders Suppliers of Aluminium Joinery for New and Existing Homes 07 856 5669 admin@cityglass.co.nz Bryan, Chris and the team are proud to support Roger Ramsey Builders and wish them every success.
