T T from page 42 The company is also currently working on several other projects in the Franklin region. Searle Group has recently completed an 18-lot subdivision in the Pukekohe Hill area, which is based around 1000sqm-type sections. Titles have recently been issued for this project, and the marketing phase is about to begin. “It’s fair to say you can still get your quarter-acre dream at Pukekohe Hill,” says Anthony. “These sections offer some stunning views of Pukekohe and the wider surrounding Auckland area. Anthony says that another adjacent Pukekohe project at Rowles Road will likely add 43 similar popular-sized lots. Searle Group has a variety of other projects underway throughout the country. In Hanmer Springs, its Chatterton River Estate subdivision boasts 57 lots of a variety of section sizes ranging from 600sqm to 1500sqm, so the development caters to a variety of preferences. Searle Group is currently in the process of getting five new homes constructed on its behalf on its last remaining sections. Two of the homes will come to the market very soon. “This subdivision backs onto a nearby riverbed with reserves and walking tracks and is within walking distance of the Hanmer township,” says Anthony. In Te Kauwhata, Searle Group is working on an approximately 130-lot subdivision, along with a residential development in Coromandel set to offer around 100 residential lots. These two residential type subdivisions will provide a variety of section sizes in the general range of 450 to 900sqm, demonstrating the company’s commitment to addressing housing needs across diverse regions of New Zealand. For people looking at the lifestyle market, Searle Group is working on a 32-lot subdivision in the Te Awamutu area. Such lots will be of the 2500sqm to one-acre variety. Such a subdivision is adjacent to its previously completed, 21 lifestyle-lot subdivision. Searle Group is also working through the planning phase of a 65-lot lifestyle type subdivision in the Drury area in one of the fastest current growth areas of New Zealand. Anthony says Searle Group takes a strategic approach to where it selects its sites: “Searle Group seeks opportunities in niche areas with a unique aspect and point of difference, whether it is the location, a view or something else that ultimately attracts people to have trust and confidence in projects.” This strategy has served the company well since its inception in 1971 by Anthony’s parents, Stuart and Vivien Searle. Today, the family tradition continues with Anthony’s sister Leanne also involved in the business. Supported by a team of loyal staff, external contractors and consultants, Searle Group has established itself as a key player in New Zealand’s property-development sector. As New Zealand grapples with its housing challenges, Searle Group is proving that innovative thinking, combined with a deep understanding of local markets, can make a significant impact. Anthony sees Searle Group continuing to play a crucial role in helping people achieve their homeownership dreams. “When people are ready to take the next step, we are there to help them move into their first home or move up the property ladder into their next dream home.” Proud to be working alongside Searle Group on their impressive Chatterton River Estate Subdivision in Hanmer Springs HARLEY MANION AND JUNE MANION YOUR HANMER SPRINGS PROPERTY SPECIALISTS Harley Manion | 021 149 8050 harley.manion@bayleys.co.nz June Manion | 021 823 824 june.manion@bayleys.co.nz WHALAN AND PARTNERS LTD, BAYLEYS, LICENSED UNDER THE REA ACT 2008 Proud to be associatedwith Searle Group subdivisions over five decades 14 Hall Street, Pukekohe (09) 238 6369 office@madsen-lawrie.co.nz www.madsen-lawrie.co.nz L A N D S U R V E YO R S , TOWN P L A NN E R S & D E V E LO P M E N T CON S U LTA N T S In 1973 a young Stuart Searle entered the o ice of an even younger David Lawrie in Pukekohe to discuss a small surveying project. From those small beginnings a 50 year relationship has developed between the two companies as they have grown over the intervening years. From that irst meeting Stuart and David established a good working relationship and that has continued through more than ive decades. “We are lexible and have the skills to enable Searle Group to steer around challenges for a successful outcome. The two companies work well together as a team” says company owner David Lawrie. While that irst project was relatively small, Stuart began to expand his land development company to it now being one of the most active in the Pukekohe area. Alongside them, Madsen Lawrie Surveyors developed the skills and acquired the technology to enable more expansive and complex projects to be undertaken which enabled them to be able to handle a project from irst conception through to the end product, that being sections on the market. “As well as the surveying work to accurately de ine the boundaries of new sections, this can also involve the design of necessary roading and service layouts, calling for tenders from contractors, supervising works in progress, completing necessary checks and obtaining approval required fromCouncil” explains David, adding that “the latter having become the source of much frustration as the requirements of Council have become more complex andmuchmore time consuming over the years”. Established in 1957 and now headed by Registered Professional Surveyor David Lawrie and Licensed Cadastral Surveyor Ben Young, who are members of the Consultant Surveyors Group NZ and Survey and Spatial NZ, the practice has nineteen employees including Madsen Lawrie Surveyors and Searle Group − a history of success surveyors, engineers, town planners, draughtspersons and o ice support sta . David says that it is the knowledge and experience o ered by the team, many of which have been with the practice for a number of decades, that has played a large part in the company’s success and ability to provide high quality workmanship and achieve longstanding relationship with Searle Group. Services that Madsen Lawrie Surveyors can provide include rural, urban and commercial subdivision, civil engineering, design and supervision of land development projects, town planning, resource management advice and applications, property and title investigations, boundary relocations, cross leases and conversions to fee simple titles, unit title developments, topographical surveys, GPS surveys, setting out of construction projects and as-built plans. The company utilises the latest equipment such as robotic survey equipment, GPS and drone technology to provide high quality results. The expertise and service that the company have been able to provide to the Searle Group has been invaluable because they understand the product that the Searle Group wish to produce and provide to the market. With the majority of Madsen Lawrie Surveyors’s work being within the Auckland andWaikato regions the company has contributed to shaping the area by working alongside both small and large developers, such as Searle Group. At present the company is completing work for the Searle Group in Patumahoe, Coromandel township, Runciman and Pukekohe. “We’re very happy to have been working with Searle Group for somany years and hope this will continue into the future.
