Raglan’s Rangitahi Peninsula is one of New Zealand’s most remarkable lifestyle locations. With its rolling hills and bushclad gullies, sloping down to meet Raglan’s harbour estuary, every home here has a special site with its own sense of place. The Peacocke family, who have farmed and cared for the land here for more than 30 years, are the driving force behind the Rangitahi Project that is providing a unique option for those seeking a life of beauty and simplicity within a regenerating landscape. To date, 170 homes have been completed at Rangitahi with another 33 under construction. A consistent, high-quality approach has been taken to the design and construction of houses and landscaping at Rangitahi to secure enduring value for all. “We have robust design guidelines and a design review process,” says project general manager Sam Laity. “It has been really rewarding to see the results of that. People are using well-known architects and building some incredible homes. Some have spent $500,000 on the build, others several million dollars; we cater to a broad range of people and are proud of the diverse community being established here.” In June, Rangitahi invited the Raglan community to join them in celebrating the opening of new tennis and half basketball courts, as well as a new toilet block designed by a local architect. “It’s amazing to see people now utilizing the spaces we have provided.” Rangitahi also runs its own onsite café called The Hut, open seven days a week from 7am to 2pm, with Raglan’s famous beaches just around the corner. “It’s going from strength to strength.” Each stage at Rangitahi has its own distinctive place and character in the landscape. For example, The Landing (Stage 5) pays homage to an historic homestead and stone wharf, with homes grouped around a park that slopes gently down to the south of the old homestead site. Fully titled sections in a range of sizes to suit different lifestyle plans are coming up at The Landing in mid-October. Stages 1, 2 and 3 are now fully sold out, but the Rangitahi website (www.rangitahi.co.nz) lists a good selection of sections currently available, not only at The Landing but also at the centrally located Plateau, along with several larger lots within the tranquil Sanctuary neighbourhood. “With titles available now, plus some resale of sections, various house and land packages [listings on TradeMe], and apartments – and even commercial opportunity - we have every option covered now. We have really broadened the range of what’s available here with plenty to choose from.” Two commercial spaces, designed by Red Architecture, are coming up for lease in Rangitahi’s community-oriented West Village. Each space will be fitted out, ready for a small business looking for a modern, purpose-built tenancy. Designed for sustainable, cost effective living, the first five apartments at West Village are now finished, with four already sold and occupied. “The energy and vibe here on the peninsula is so positive: we are growing well and everyone is excited to be a part of this unique community in such a special place.” Concrete Specialists CONCRETE RETAINING PROJECT MANAGEMENT HARD LANDSCAPING Rockwork, sleeper steps, water features, stepping stones, etc. Sub divisions, commercial projects, residential.
